Letter columns usually *should* be scanned - c2c or not c2c, it is a vital part of comic books.
And yes, good advice. Alternatively, one could try looking for links that are scattered all over various message boards and sites --- some file-hosting services are old and still kicking, they didn't all share rapidshare's fate.
