The fact Black Adam actually learned a MA so freakingly complex that takes Ra's al Ghul a lifetime to just learned the basic forms, which is enough to say how skilled BA is

Knew someone would say it but only in jest 😂

When he transforms into BA, The Wisdom of Zehuti coupled with the other powers should make him a trans level opponent, if not abstract.

And yet, despite learning this MA form that takes an immortal's lifetime to master, he's still only on the level of a guy who's been learning for 20+ years.

Disappointing, really. What was he learning after the first 500 years, the Shatner hammer fist?

Hmmm after rereading those scans it makes me think Wayne held back initially until he realized Adam was actually good but by then it was too late

It's also not that late. Three broken ribs are....not that severe in comics, we see Bruce standing normally after that fight.

But of course, anything I say would be construed as me spinning things, lol.

True, it is impressive all things considered. I haven't read the book mind you so I'm wondering if they scuffled a tad prior to his depowering.

Almost, but not quite.

Yes, in a sense, reflection of himself...

This story actually should take place around Black Reign( Pre-Flashpoint)

Batman - Urban Legends 017( Black Adam part)

Not trying to take away from the feat, but that is actually a solid point. BA has evidently honed his skills over the course of hundredS(if not thousandS) of years, while Bruce has only been at it for a few decades... Yet the difference between them seemed pretty marginal.

It's like Yoda vs. Anakin. Yes, Yoda was more powerful, but he had 800+ years to get to that level. Meanwhile, Anakin was still very close to his level by RotS, despite only training for like 13 years.

I thought Black Adam should be thousands of years old? So more like Batman's decades trained skills still close to the levels of someone trained thousdans of years

Nah, that’s the whole fight.

But you know Batman, classic glass jaw. Couple broken ribs and he folds.

Afaik, Adam's origin has always been about Ancient Egypt... so yes, we're talking about thousands of years.

"Look at how much training he needs to approximate a fraction of my power" -Batman, after seeing BA training for 1,000 years.

Sin always think people are holding back. Nothing in that showing points to Batman pulling back anything. Heck, he threw the first hit.

Close to 3000, unless DC retconned him hard.

It's extremely rare when godlike character's experience actually means something.

I mean, look at Thor and Hercules. Pretty sure Mary Jane or Pepper Potts could outkarate them.

Nah I meant if after 3,000 he's only on Batman's level, after 1,000 years - 10 centuries - he's only approaching a fraction of Batman's level.

Sounds like a pretty shit martial art, tbh. You have a choice, learn boxing for three years or this mystical martial art for 500, and at the end you can fight evenly.....yeah, inefficient as hell.

Oh he did, lol. Batman's in full armour too, and he has -what I can only assume - is a shirt of the finest Egyptian cotton.
