The speed when Superman almost gets Jay carries enough momentum to send Superman instantly from Earth to the Sun. I think it speaks about Superman/Jay's speed and it's also a durability showing I guess?

Considering light takes 8.5 minutes, that's a pretty good MFTL speed feat....

Hmm, the diamond GA speaks, I think he is talking about one early adventure in Pre-Crisis JL run, iirc?

Yes, the very first story Ollie joined the team.

~Are you guys happy Vertigo is back??

Happy with a lot of the moves lately. Absolute seems fresh, the bullet logo return, Vertigo return, etc

So random PSA here for those collecting comic scans: you should back them up on a separate thumb drive or hard drive.

While uploading them to an online photo collection service secures an online backup, it should be common knowledge that some of those online photo collection services can collapse, even those with paid subscription models.

But even if they don't collapse and are perfectly functional... be aware that the titles of your scans can be changed from carefully collated titles to random gibberish.

So let's say you've "lost" your original hard drive that contained a carefully collated collection of scans where their individual filenames were painstakingly titled for easy reference? But you've still uploaded them to an online photo collection service like Photobucket! That even offers mass downloads of entire uploaded albums via convenient .zip files! You extract the convenient .zip file! You get a named folder containing every single one of your scans! And...

... they're completely renamed files that bear gibberish titles like "0a0d45cd-cd27-4026-9af2-e5a96d44ff7a" and do not order themselves in the same way you uploaded them.

So only way to re-collate them for posterity is to cross-reference each scan with each title that I can extract from my respect threads. This will take weeks, if not months if I can't find someone to salvage my old hard drive. Ugh.

Almost everything that's happened in DC since at least Infinite Crisis has been Darkseid's machinations playing out.
There's a lot of other forces that come into play, of course, but most of them come into play because of what he set in motion.
Hard disagree.

A lot of the overarching evil machinations occurring were actually attributed to Perpetua, Doctor Manhattan or Pariah/The Great Darkness. Darkseid was actually sometimes reduced to being a mere pawn.

Either way, Darkseid being a BTS mastermind doesn't reverse-project greater significance to his on-panel appearances and feats.

We should have this rule for the forums (for BFR):

Also, Superman using echolocation.

Have you guys seen the power levels depicted on the JL membership cards? Superman is Power Level 100, Flash is 86, WW is 95, and Batman is 75....

Disagree all you like. But even the return of The Great Darkness was part of Darkseids plan. He's the one that woke it up/drew it out in Final Crisis, which is something he put into motion even years before that. He just didnt plan on losing to the heros.

And, I never suggested it did. I was just pointing it out. He's essentially changed the entire cosmology to this point, and it seems that continues going forward.

Mark Waid has read every superhero comic there is. He is Alberto.

Some not power-level related topic, but Mark Waid just said in a recent interview that he actually didn't read every DC book(let alone the all superhero comics).
Not trying to say Mark is a bad writer or something like that, but just found it's funny since it really gives a Alberto vibe lol

Admittedly, it's been a while since I read Infinite Frontier. But it seemed to me that The Empty Hand pulled a Yu-Gi-Oh! trap card on Darkseid. Like what happened with TOAA and Thanos during Marvel Universe: The End.

I agree he's compeltely warped the Alpha World... but what far-reaching effects beyond the Alpha World reality have actually manifested in the greater DC Multiverse? Honest question.
