Now, I know why.
Everything Superman has done should be outlier.
What a hypocrisy!
The interesting thing I noticed was a few weeks ago when Gladiator got the best showing of his career against Galactus. Certain people came in here claiming that this one feat skyrocketed Gladiator into the 'abstract' tier... Yes, these people truly believed that ONE feat of this caliber in Gladiator's 40+ year character history was enough to bump him into the realm of abstract-level power. No questions asked.
Flip side, if you mention any one of the numerous feats Superman has that are of similar(or in many cases far greater) magnitude...feats he has been consistently preforming over the years, mind you...those same people will typically be the first to downplay/lowball/ignore them by any means necessary. In their eyes Superman is herald-level and will never be any thing more, regardless of the feats/accolades under his belt.
Point being: there is an almost sickening double standard when it comes to Superman, and I honestly don't understand why..?
It's one thing to not like the character(he's not everyone's cup of tea; I get it)... But it's an entirely different thing to not like the character SO deeply that you are willing to ignore absolutely everything about him that you don't agree with. Worse yet, these same people will also revert to randomly attacking Superman, even when Superman has absolutely nothing to do with the thread/discussion at hand... It's like some sort of strange defense mechanism. We saw that most recently when Ben KO'ing Hulk was being discussed.
