It's the same reason Elaine Bellock, as The Presence, couldn't chase after some rogue angels in a dimension. Because she was so powerful, she'd tear it apart.

Really makes you wonder how powerful Supes became during OWAW, given that he just sat in the sun for a good bit of time, and didn't zip in and out of a few suns at FTL speeds... mmm

To put it into perspective, he evidently became more powerful than when he had the power of Eternity [i.e. Kismet] added to him -- which he used just to breach Imperiex's armor. He then proceeded to go Sun-pumping, and overpower a combo of B-13 powered by the Big Bang [https://imgur.com/a/7MgdzMV] [all the while Imperiex - the big bang - begs him to kill B-13 and break the containment unit containing him, lol].
What it certainly puts into perspective is stuff like him beating Darkseid next to the sun in S/B, for one -- Uxas is one tough sob to take all that, lol.
