I'd guess Supes then goes to catch Batman and that's the whole fight.

Well, You know He Is Batman 😕

Why isn't Superman smarter then Batman?

He's supposed to have "super intelligence". He should theoretically be smarter then Lex Luthor, but this never plays out.

He IS smarter, by leaps and bounds. The problem is that he's also incapable, at least right now, of thinking in the same manner Batman is. Someone on this site made the point that Batman is the best example of a superhero (when he's really more of a vigilante, and yes, there's a difference imo) that thinks like a villain.

Whereas Superman... For all his genius, he's just too damn decent to be able to think like Batman does.

And then there's the whole "clever =/= smart" thing, which itself opens up a bunch of categories, some of which Batman just excels in when Superman doesn't.

Still make no sense though.

Multiple times Clark’s genius level has triumphs leaps and bound above Bruce’s and Lex.

Ex. Clark has created multiple robots, multiple suits to fit his needs. In New 52, Clark learned how to perform complex surgery by reading every books there is on surgery in seconds.

In post Crisis, Clark has unbeknown to Bruce casually updated Bruce’s gadgets without knowing. Only reasons he never told Bruce, was because he didn’t want to hurt Bruce’s pride.

I think the rationale (which was mine btw, thanks Pr) is that Superman just can't think like a bad guy. He can read all the medical textbooks he likes, it still wouldn't tell him what a villain would do next (although he could diagnose them correctly).

It just doesn't enter into his mind to do so.

If you want to know why Morrison is the best, just watch this video. He comes up with the concept of Hypertime before a meeting, draws some shit on a napkin, and *poof* it's still canon 20 years later.

😆

I ****ing love that man.

This is why I hate Batman and characters like him. Doesn’t matter if Clark is blocking the lightning, the heat and shockwave should have Bruce in pain, or at most dead.

Still doesn’t make sense. A normal person doesn’t think like an EMT, but the average joe still knows to put pressure on an artery to stop the bleeding, or at the least put direct pressure on the wound itself.

True, but that assumes there is a handbook with instructions on how to be a dick.

First aid? Sure. And Clark can read it, memorise it, and apply it.

But it's not exactly as if one can write instructions on how criminals think, or 'how to be paranoid' etc.

Lol click on Phildos link. It's even worse than you think

I guess I can see your point, but remember, Clark is reporter. A reporter that worked under cover at least once in his career. A reporter that travelled to the Middle East and reported on the crimes happening there.

Clark didn’t become one of the best reporters around by thinking one dimensional. I just found the reasons why Clark doesn’t use his intellect lazy writing.

The Batman hate is strong. Superman performs a multiversal feat it's another Tuesday. Batman outthinks his opponent or flips out the way of a lightning bolt it's pis. When I was in the Marines we had a green Captain with us. He spent much of his career in school and training, he had a BAs in linguistics, military history all that jazz. But he constantly led us into areas or made decisions that proved he had no idea how the enemy thought. Stuff that even our junior enlisted were like wtf. There's a huge difference between book smarts and street smarts.

Using real world logic doesn’t work in this instance.

By your reasonings, Batman should be dead from being to close to Clark and Shazam fighting due to the shockwaves their blows create.

No one is hating on Batman, but writers tends to elevate Batman, while destroying other characters abilities. For instance, Batman a mere human is able to come up with a plan far faster than the Flash can, when Barry himself is a forensic scientist.

How doesn't it make sense? People excel in different fields, and a lot of the training Batman got isn't something you can pick up from a book.

Hell, Superman could read every book in the world about mental illness and Batman's villains would still leave him scratching his head sometimes.

And to be fair, and I don't think people really appreciate this enough: Superman's brain just doesn't work the same way yours or mine does. Hell, look at the Justice League. It's a team of superheroes that has one vigilante. And tbh, you need the experience and perspective of someone like that too.

👆 You put in to few words something I've been unable to illustrate without using a ****ing essay. I wish I had that skill.

History has proved that Sin will always defend the rich white male and his priviledge 😖hifty:

So recently Superman is put into a coma from a nuke thats capable of destroying the US east coast

Do you understand that Up In The Sky is probably non-continuity?
And,if you insist Up In The Sky is in-continuity, What do you think that Superma can process tracks of Zeta Beam whose amount of information can rival a universe?
And #3,Superman implied that he can throw a planet into Black hole if he will.
