Haven't been following this series, but when did Spectre's look change?

he was referred to as Raguel in the book, that's one of Spectre's aliases

Golgo's example was better though

Yeah, Spectre is mostly referred to as Raguel on the Vertigo side of things...

Started with Phantom Stranger's tour of the universe:

"Raguel, to whom has been entrusted the Vengeance of the Lord."

The current Lucifer series just holds to that...

"The mighty Vengeance of the Lord, Raguel."

https://i.imgur.com/teBFa9F.jpg
"I am called Raguel, of the first made, the sword and Vengeance of the Lord."

Makes sense, as the current Lucifer series also explicitly notes that beings of this order frequently use different avatars:

Which would explain why Raguel here looks different than Spectre typically does.

Was disappointed Lucifer never talked with Destruction. Considering he was the first to simply leave his cosmic position, and take up baking.

I assume this is Destiny of The Endles?

That was before he was Destiny "of the Endless", but yeah, same guy.

Mr Miracle isn't exactly a strong brick.
I think the point is that Miracle is literally the god of escape-
"Scott Free is a god who can always escape. That's his foundation—his truth. That's how he was designed."
-Tom King

But not even he could get in or out of the prison. That's how secure it was.

Tell me more of Fabulous Krypton. Does it sparkle?

The funny part is that not only did the prison have the best security protocols in the multiverse, but it was SO impenetrable that not even Mr. Miracle could break in or out(which is f*cking ridiculous in itself), yet Superman busts into it with seemingly no discernible effort.... just to help sell their 'ruse' to TBWL.

Where Superman is concerned, nothing surprises me anymore.

What surprises me is how retarded writers are in making him a parody of himself.

So Batman can make a prison so secure that Mister Miracle couldn't break in or out? That's already gay, but then Superman proceeds to do it? Well that's just Supergay. 👇

Bringing up Mister Miracle at all was stupid. I'll read the issue when I get home but it just sounds lame.

Coming soon:

- Superman being more paranoid than the Question

- faster than the Speedforce itself

- growing his mantits to be bigger than Powergirl's

- kicking harder than Batman

- becoming more perverted than Bueno Excellente

So Sinestro is on a quest to kill the gods and become a god

The "he can do it...cuz Superman" logic is a train that DC has been riding for a long time now, but yeah, it's almost comical at this point. Basically the whole reason Mr. Miracle was even mentioned is to make Superman casually busting into the prison that much more impressive.

...And this is aside from the fact that earlier in the issue it was stated that Supes could have outright beaten TSWL, but ended up pulling his punches because Shazam's "just a kid", lol.

To be fair, prisons are meant to keep people from getting out, not from getting in 😛

As much as a part of me hates it, there is a precedent for it, not to mention a fully-fleshed out reason for Superman to just randomly do insane shit: You'll find that throughout the post-crisis history, there was a tendency under several writers to run with the idea that the only thing holding Superman back, was Superman himself. I don't mean strength-wise (that's more easily and widely documented), but we are talking about a guy that grew up on a farm and went to public school.

In the late 90s/early 00s, you could see Loeb and Casey really push this idea without any real subtlety whatsoever. Superman basically did whatever the **** he wanted, when he wanted, and basically any really good Superman arc from the last twenty odd years usually has one or two moments of Superman basically just being better at something than everyone else.

Superman breaking in to a prison like this doesn't surprise me, tbh, because you can't really compare Mr. Miracle to a guy that has to concentrate NOT to hear/see/smell/taste everything around him for miles.

I do consider it a dick move, though.

Jesus Christ, that Xavier feat. And the ****er did it TWICE.

Both.

The anti-Superman faction will NEVER admit that Superman is as powerful as he clearly is(regardless of the upper-echelon feats he constantly preforms), because that means he's going to stomp the christ out of their pet Marvel characters... And they can't/won't accept that.

It's much easier for them to feign ignorance and trollishly lowball(trollball?), then it is for them to concede that Superman simply operates at a level that is unattainable to most other characters in comics when he needs to.

Thank you.
In fact, This interpretation is nothing new.
Geoff and Morrison has implied this interpretation at least since 2000's.
But,People intentionally ignore it.

I haven't read the issue yet but did Miracle test it by trying to escape? Miracle escaped death by suicide so a prison (even a multiversal one built by bats) shouldn't be beyond him. I get DC wants to wank Supes but JFC outdoing people at their craft is kinda lame

No.

It was only mentioned (this prison is so secure even MM couldn't break it!!).

Don't know if Mr. Miracle tested the prison(it wasn't shown either way), but Superman is who stated that Scott wouldn't be able to get in or out, and Batman didn't disagree... So there's really no reason to doubt it.

Then Superman himself proceeds to bust into the prison and breach the containment field that was holding TBWL...with seemingly no effort...just to make it look like he'd actually been infected by Shazam.

Maybe next issue it will be revealed that there was more to the showing than what we saw here, but as of now it is yet another purely gratuitous display of Superman haxx.

Did Shazam know where TBWL was being held?

I'm assuming he didn't otherwise he would have tried to free him, right?

We'll probably get more hax when Superman has to confront at once infected Shazam, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Hawkman, Donna Troy and, especially, Jim Gordon.

Though, if he held back against Shazam, he'll probably let himself get beaten by Supergirl.
