Comic Book Questions & Discussion

Yes

Idk if this has already been discussed before but...how exactly do the New Gods relate to the Source now? The Source exists at the end of the Overvoid, and even the Brothers Three (who exist on a vastly higher plane of existence than the New Gods) had to do some special tuning to get into contact with the Source and its judges, and only for brief intervention, yet we have seen the New Gods interact with the Source on numerous occasions. The nature of the Source as the opposite of the Anti-Life Equation has evidently been retconned as well.

The Source chooses to interact with the New Gods. Not the other way around.

Mephisto can turn knowledge into power. So he can effect even Butterfly which as seen with her innocence as a girl is incredibly hard to succeed at.

The original Doomsday died in OWAW. Everything after that is something new.

Doomsday [originally] is DD:Year One, DoS, H/P, DD Wars and OWAW.

Would you say the Doomsday Mr Oz captured is the "true" Doomsday also?

The "original" I meant to say is:The Doomsday who always toe to toe with Superman(Including DD:Year One, DoS, H/P, DD Wars and OWAW, Gog Wars, Doomsday reign), And I thought the "clone" meant is like during Superman/Batman issues version that Supes oneshotting them with his HV

It's the same Doomsday seen in DD Rex [who pieced up Martian Manhunter] and GoG wars, yes. Which is the one 'grown' after the original Doomsday's remains. The Doomsdays in S/B were the 5-cent ones found at the shop.

Technically, he shouldn't be. But at this point, all Doomsdays are just approximations -- and the intent of Dan Jurgens [who wrote DoS, H/P and DD Wars....] was for it to be as 'original' as possible.

Ahhhh ok. I was kind of confused because it seemed like Oz was hyping that version of Doomsday like it was the original.

On that topic- what happened to all of the beings that Oz collected and imprisoned? Were they ever freed or what? 😕

I checked out some solicits for upcoming issues...

Looks like we'll be getting TBWL vs. Apex Lex after all, which will be awesome.

Also looks like we might get Apex Lex + Legion of Doom + Leviathan vs. Superman, which should be something to see as well.

...Oh and DC's Hill House Comics line starts dropping this week. Very much looking forward to those. 👆

For me, I really hope Lex could win this fight. There were times from the day he becomes Apex Lex to now, But he still didn't get some impressive highlights and feats. And TBWL was on other hand. He almost looks like predicting and manipulating every person in the dc universe

It really won't be, unless it starts and ends with TBWL having his head punched clean off his shoulders in a single page.

Nothing with TBWL can be awesome

I actually... Don't mind TBWL. ermmnone

Ditto

I enjoy it

I think as a concept, it's akin to shite fanfic. But the execution has actually surprised me at times.

no more than any other alt character that gets a boost though?

Was it ever explained -why- TBWL is so far above everyone else intellectually? I assume it's because he's basically Batman with no moral or ethical restrictions present to neuter his plans thanks to the Joker venom- but was anything like that ever actually stated in the books?

Better yet- did the Joker venom do anything to INCREASE his intellect?
