Gotcha. I think the trope is overused. The whole hero vs hero or alt hero-turned villian vs hero. It's been done to death. The best story I've read from DC was that Kite-Man issue and before that Miracle Man. I honestly wish they'd delve more into characters like that. Give them time to shine. I'd love to see a Killer Moth mini or give Toy Man a really dark turn where he's targeting kids or something. Give them enemies they can't simply beat up.
I don't mind characters entering each other's worlds. I love a good team-up. But when it starts getting in to the "what if x character had y character's powers?!" or "what if x character became basically their villain?!" I start to lose interest. There are exceptions, but generally it just tends to feel like lazy writing to me, and while comics have always had writers who lacked that kind of creativity, it just feels more prominent nowadays.
DCeased is an example of a book that I wish went a bit differently than it's been going so far, because "what if there was a zombie apocalypse in x world" is one of the few concepts where I'll literally give it a chance regardless. For example, I would have much preferred it to be about the aliens on Earth fighting an uphill battle as all the Humans around them (ie their friends and family) succumb.
Like, that Jonathan Kent scene was really well done, I thought.

Yes. It was totally unnecessary. Kudos to Moon Knight I guess. Oh and Ben was acting like a skirt for crying the whole series

Those look like the 616 versions, but usually the Zombies stuff isn't canon.

But given end the issue, I can't help but wonder if we're now entering the era of the "Sable Surfer" or if the change will be something that only last for a couple of months.l

Problem I had with Knull in this is that he didn't do anything at all to make me think he was a high level cosmic being. Actually just came off like a mediocre threat.
