Comic Book Questions & Discussion

Since there are multiple different Lantern Corps of almost the same color these days they should be more specific with their names. Obviously, there are two general categories of Lantern Corps: the "Monochromatic Corps" and "Polychromatic Corps" but, beyond that, we need NUMERICAL descriptors in order to avoid ambiguities and confusion.

The various Monochromatic Corps i.e. Pure Spectral Color Corps should be named after the wavelength of their specific color. For example, "The 632.8 nm Corps" (colloquially, "The Helium-Neon Laser Corps"😉 would represent a particular type of Red Lantern Corps.

Polychromatic Corps i.e. Multicolored Corps would be best specified with the color temperature of their color (if applicable), e.g. "The 6000 Kelvin Corps" i.e. "Sunlight Corps" would be a particular type of White Lantern Corps.

This would also make the extensions outside the visible spectrum trivial. One could very easily introduce e.g. the "10 cm Corps" (the "Unimpressively-sized Corps"😉 and "1,000,000 Kelvin Corps" (the "Corps 1M"😉.

Honing his response to BLM.

Why couldn't Ultimate Thor have become 616 Thor?

Best version of Thor by far.

no

What's not to like?

No

None of you guys are Thor experts.

Only one guy on this board still qualifies.

What do you say Stilt?

Both suck ass.

He's no fat Thor, I'll grant.

Figured you'd have gotten a kick out of a hippie Thor from an insane asylum..

And he was still way more respectible then Odinson.

Oh well.

At least we all agree The Ultimates in general is awesome.

Or some of us do, saw them talking about it.

You're the only one who tried to disagree on that.

Are you sure about that?

I thought the movie was bad, don't believe I ever comnented on The Ultimates comic book runs.

Or if I did I was lying, seeing I never read them until recently.

As in currently.

This is truely the Ultimate Hank Pym.

You need to work on the way you word your inquiries here, then.

As it seemed more like you questioned the quality of those comics instead of being legit curious about them.

As for the films. The first one was decent, but its sequel (with Wakanda) was pretty forgettable.

Ultimates started off good but crashed hard so it sours the whole experience. 616 Thor is fine when handled properly

^ All major Ultimate titles had the same problem.

Even Spidey?

Not technically "Ultimates" Ultimate, seeing it predates the Avengers.

Was all that talk of Robert Downey Jr. And Samuel L. Jackson coincidence? Ultimates 1 came out in 2002, well before the first MCU movie.

Especially Spider-Man, yes.

Those films had to be named "Ultimate Avengers" to get themselves some attention. That and they borrowed a few elements from the mainstream comics, too.

More like a very early wishlist. And yeah, Jackson was mentioned by Fury as the perfect cast for him. But I don't remember Downey being suggested.

All were fine initially. The problem is they got caught up in the hype, kept getting edgier and we got Ultimatum.

MCU borrowed some stuff while also staying true to the original and added it's own formulaic flavor
