Nothing says that the digital comics are set in present era of Rebirth, they are showing adventures from past.

And using Aquaman to discredit Superman? Lulz.

Is that not how it works? If someone's stature is completely different in that story, don't we deem it as non-canon? Does this somehow change because its Superman?

Lol that's not what abhi is arguing. He's saying that it's perfectly possible that it's different to CURRENT Rebirth.... because it's not telling he story of CURRENT Rebirth.

Guys, retroactive storytelling is very much a thing.

Is there any proof that Superman: Man of Tomorrow specifically, is non-canon? I plan on going back through the issues myself to see what I can find, but is there something obvious in the story that I have missed?

I think carver says that Marvel Atlas is bigger than DC Atlas.

And I will say... Atlas is Atlas 😖hifty:

Ie. Wolverine: First Class. The entire series was actually set between X-Men issues

Hercules is lifting axis mundi, not actually heavens.

Here it is straight up said that it's the spiritual center of Earth.

Marvel handbook states the same.

Whis is the heavens in their mythology. Axis mundi is the cosmic axis and the mythical connection between heaven and earth. Atlas lifting the heavens is that representation. Like for example the world tree is at or the representation of the cosmic axis for Asgardian mythology.

The feat is literally identical. It's ultimately unquantifiable, but a great transcendant feat that's normally reserved for ungodly strong individuals.. Not really surprising for folks like Superman or Hercules..

Nope, it's just a magical axis.

It was even drained to free Atlas and remake world.

Lol ure making the Herc feat sound even more impressive.

facepalm

Axis Mundi is a place where heaven and earth connect and it’s usually where important events are happening and atlas is usually there holding up the heavens.
IMO herc and Superman’s feat is the same.

The “axis” is just the point where the heavens above rest upon the earth below. Saying that Herc was lifting the axis doesn’t change the feat, because the axis = the point bearing the weight of the heavens.

It’s why Atlas’ bio says that he bore heavens weight on his shoulders, which is exactly what Herc did when he took Atlas’ place.

And it’s based on the Greek myth of Hercules, which is obviously what Superman’s story is referencing.

Yes.

Or X-Men First Class, Uncanny X-Men First Class or Weapon X First Class.

X-Men and Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four minis.

Or several hundreds other "untold tales" happening in the past.

It's... not a new thing, lol.

Gotta agree with Smurph here.

Not sure why Abhi hates Marvel Herc so much? Unlike Thor, he's actually pretty fun to read... and he never posed any thread to abhi's favorite farmboy, so I really don't understand this hostility against him.

does holding up the "Heavens" refer to the whole Universe?

Except, we see Atlas being freed from his burden when the axis mundi was drained.

So, he wasn't lifting the heavens, he was lifting Axis Mundi.
