the whole "worthy" thing too. thor has to be worthy enough to lift a hammer that gives him the power he already has?

i get that the hammer itself is powerful in its own right. but why the **** does thor still care about it? just lock the thing up in an asgardian vault and call it a day.

Made more sense when Odin cursed him into being a lowly mortal. In that case the worthy enchantment made sure he evolved as a person, and it granted the "power of Thor" by transforming him back into Thor.

That doesn't explain why anyone else gets his powers though.

The hammer can create like Forge creates. It also enchants stone onto God almighty so as to please Him.

Hal was fighting one of the golems for several pages.
