Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker - Discussion Thread

The script had Kylo not redeeming and being the main villain, it kept Rey as a nobody, it had Force Ghost Luke training her and haunting Kylo, had Finn lead a rebel Stormtrooper revolt, and the final battle taking place on Mortis with Rey getting blinded.

Also has a Sith Holocron proper mashing up Kylos face, so hes forced to wear a mask, like Vader.

Oh and it goes back to Coruscant where the FO has control and Hux is a Chancellir obsessed with Jedi/Sith relics. When they lose he kills himself with Mace Windus lightsaber.

Sounds like a much better script to me. If nothing else, it would have seemed like a more well planned out trilogy. And connected these films to the prequel era in a more natural and less forced way.

Some of the concept artwork/plots sound interesting, to say the least...

"These pages show Kylo Ren standing before a hideous, multiple-armed monster on another world; apparently this is Tor Valum, the Sith master who trained Palpatine and will train Ren."

It's not Tor Valum (assuming the Trevarrow scripts are even true). That's the Oracle which was supposed to show up early in TRoS. It was originally supposed to tell Kylo where to find Vader's wayfinder at the very beginning of the film.

Ah okay. That makes a lot more sense. 👆

The Finn part is awful, though.

I hope Boyega will have to beg to get a job as a janitor now.

Gave him some relevance. But tbh I liked the idea in TROS of him being Force sensitive, but they did nothing with that, so was pointless.

Boyega is cool though. Hes been proper trolling the Reylo fans on his Twitter.

What relevance?

His "acting" is very obnoxious. I don't want to see his "performance" ever again.

The majority of Finn's "lines" consist of him screaming the other characters' names at the top of his lungs. It's unbelievably annoying.

Reyyyyyyy

Wait so the idea was to have Sidious train under ANOTHER master? 😕

They did the same thing in the PT, introduced Qui-Gon as Obi-Wan's master even though he says he was trained by Yoda in ESB.

This would have been awesome to see...

-Force Ghost Luke blocking Kylo Ren's saber with his hand.

Damn! Thats like The Son/Father level stuff.

Much better use of Force ghosts than lifting an X-Wing. Why the heck would I be impressed by a Force Ghost doing something ROTJ Luke should have been capable of.

Theres an image of Rey with a Saber staff as well, standing over some stormtroopers she took out:

Some Really cool stuff.

Father palming Anakin's saber is the first thing I thought of too.

Would have been cool to see the ghosts as "more powerful than you can possibly imagine".

Can someone explain Palpatine's "plan" for me??

First he wanted Kylo to kill Rey and rule the new Empire. Then he wanted Rey to kill him and rule. Then he wanted himself to rule.

wtf?? 😕
