I've not read a lot of the extended ROS material(other than what you and others have posted), but didn't the movie seem to imply that his spirit can only leave his body by latching onto another who embraces their hate by striking him down? Otherwise he seemed pretty stuck with his broken down body and doomed without it, which is why he needed Snoke to carry out his plans.
That was definitely the implication. 👆

I'm just saying that because transferring his spirit into another vessel was part of Palpatine's powerset in RoS, there could still be a possibility that having his physical body destroyed didn't perma-kill him. His spirit could still be lingering in limbo, just waiting to inhabit another body.

Palpatine did state that he had "died before", after all... /shrug

Seems to me his body was destroyed right there.

And if that ain't enough... the entire Death Star II goes kablooey...

You see some debris --- but I still find it ridiculous there was enough of Palp's throneroom left to be recognizable in TRoS...

As for his body, I refuse to believe he's in his original body in TRoS.

I like how the relic room was also perfectly intact. 👆

And on top of that, how the Wayfinder(which Rey easily plucked from its levitation field with one hand), was still just floating there, completely unaffected by the explosion and crash landing into a planet, lol.

😂

You know, just watched a video and it brought up some good points.

Lol, yeah. That about sums it up.

Ok everyone, watching this...

All Mcguffins will now be referred to as Mcmuffins alright? Cool.

Ah, also spoilers...I guess if it should be said.

Also the video is pure gold, so if anyone wants to watch it without care for spoilers...I recommend it.

I just found out that Freddie Prinze Jr. lent his voice to the final scene as well. That's cool. 👆

I *think* it was Freddie who said: "In the heart of a Jedi lies her strength!"

He said that after Tom Green jacked off the elephant into Rip Torn's face.

Kylo stole the show.

It was a garbage show made of failure, but yeah, he definitely stole it.

Not much of an accomplishment though.

TBF, standing out as an actor when given shitty material is a decent indication you're good at what you do.

Wait, nvrm.

So another point about this movie that I just found out.

So the title crawl says Rey is the last hope of the Jedi.

...Ok but why? What Jedi since Luke is dead? Rey has no attachment to the Jedi at all, why does she become one? The Jedi she met in Luke completely dismissed her and wanted nothing to do with her, that's not a really good first impression soo....she could easily just go to the Dark Side.

She was training to be a Jedi, just like Luke was in the OT.

She has no attachment to the Jedi though, that's the issue. With Luke he knows he comes from a family with a Jedi Knight, then having 2 mentors and wants to learn and become a Jedi like his father.

Rey just...becomes a Jedi for what reason now? Leia certainly isn't a Jedi as she quit being one. Luke died and he was a bit of a prick to Rey and didn't really teach her anything, so what is Rey's incentive?

Rey knew she was a force user, and knew she wanted to do good for the galaxy.

Putting herself on the Jedi path was a means to that end.
