Don't follow US media, are we talking about the grinning kid? Is he suing media outlets for defamation? If so and they told lies about him, then they deserve to be sued and he deserves to win. Yes he may become 'that guy' everywhere he goes for the next 20+ years but that should in no way deter him or anyone else from pursuing justice/compensation or clearing his name.

I doubt that suing them would make him anymore “that guy” than the media already made him. Damage done. He (and tbh, the rest of society) has far more to gain than lose here.
