If you are being accused of being racist toward Native Americans or disrespectful toward Veterans, then offering to serve those groups demonstrates 1.) contrition, and 2.) that you are not bigoted. But whatever, you do you do.

What do you think it says about our society that the teenager is in more need of reforming his image in the eyes of the public than the grown ass adults involved?

Seems $36,000 has been raised thus far for the Nick Sandmann college fund by Catholics.

Why is the teenager expected to be the biggest person in the room?

Expected to or not he still is.

Phillips approached him and lied to the media about it to stir up controversy.

The Black Israelites are black nationalists who shouted racist and homophobic shit.

The MSM spread patently false information that was at best ignorance and at worst malevolence.

The blue checkmarks on twitter (easily the most obnoxious group of people on the planet) called for violence, called for public shaming, tried to destroy these kids lives, and joked about them being in a school shooting.

... This kid smirked...

They should have him write "I will not smirk" 1,000 times on a chalkboard. That'll teach him.

No one expects him to do shit. All I am saying is that he can choose to be the biggest person in the room, and get all kinds of praise for it, especially since none of the adults are choosing to do so. He also has entire life ahead of him, compared to someone who is at the end of his, so he has more to gain/lose by doing so. By that calculation alone, it is better to be the one to do it. But that is the difference between being right and being happy that I mentioned before.

According to Sandmann and his PR firm he didn't smirk doh. That was his silent prayer face meant to diffuse the situation.

It does neither of those as people would just say he's doing it for selfish reasons and not because he actually cares. face it, You just don't want the people that actually lied and called for violence to be held accountable.

Idunno, I feel that “being the bigger person” should not be at the expense of letting guilty parties get away with it. That’s like telling a sexual harassment victim to “be the better person” by showing to ppl that she’s not a tattletale troublemaker by apologizing to her harasser.

Doesn’t sit well with me.

Oh, does it bother you that they raised money for him?

No, people are free to do whatever they like with their money. Make this kid a millionaire if enough people want to donate; I couldn't care less.

But I found it funny because "white privilege" came up as an issue over this and it was rejected by the usual suspects and here we are with this kid getting a free ride to college.

Considering one is a designated extremist group on an active hate watch, they do not have an image that can be reformed. Why is society so concerned about an impressionable minor with his whole life ahead of him instead of grown adults in a domestic terrorist group who are a lost causes? Gee, the world will never know.

Why is that an example of white privilege? This wouldn't be the first time we've seen some story go viral and the person gets money donated. It's not specific to any race.

Prove they are guilty of anything. He is going to bring a lawsuit, and in discovery, the defense is going to introduce every vile thing he has Tweeted about women, every video from that same day of his classmates calling girls "sluts" and shouting, "It's not rape if you enjoy it." They are going to show the videos of the chaperones telling the Black Hebrew Israelites that "Jesus was white" and high-fiving each other. You think anyone is going to watch that parade of evidence and think he is some kind of innocent on the back end of it? Think again.

If it goes to court, Sandmann and his lawyer better hope it's an all Alt-Right jury.
