And the WH has hardly said anything affirmative about the report other than "no collusion" so there's really nothing to contradict. Congress is supposed to weigh in on obstruction and they can't do so without being privy to the full range of evidence.

Congress can't do its job of checks and balances without the report and Barr's already hinted that if a subpoena goes out for it, it will be redacted to to uselessness.

For almost 2years Trumpers said the report needed to be released in full. Now it's "we don't need to see it." Too funny, but 100% expected.

Er, can you explain why congress wouldn't just stick to partisan lines? The dems will think he obstructed and the republicans won't. Who then decides who is more correct?

I don't know what kind of embarrassing things could be in it. I agree they should release the reason Mueller determined he didn't collude. As well as the reason he punted when it comes to obstruction. As well as info on any other crimes. Why do you need more than that?

Though there were investigations into Hillary, I suppose if every single scrap of information when it came to that investigation was released it would be a different story when it comes to Trump. Is that what happened?

I mostly agree with you there, as at least it shows some small level of transparency 👆 But for almost two years it was pushed that the full report needed to be shown to the public, I agreed every time, no matter how it falls, show it all, so let's have it. Full transparency.

I've said before when Clinton was cleared of Benghazi, then investigated again that the Republicans doing the investigation should release all their findings.

Seems reasonable:

"I don't care whether it's a Democrat president or a Republican president, we should not waste the time of the entire country sending spies into campaigns, making false accusations and tying the country in knots for two years," Paul said from the Senate floor on Thursday.

"We will agree to see the Mueller report as long as the other side will agree to show us the communications that took place in deciding to promote this fake allegation against the president and whether there was misuse of their office," he continued. "We based this investigation on a lie, we should investigate who the liars were."

In addition to asking for information to be publicly released, Paul's amendment would also call for Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to testify under oath, call for any communications from Obama about an investigation into the Trump campaign to be released and for the public release of any communication about the decision not to indict Clinton.

Personal info that has no connection to the investigation and is not criminal like Trump getting pissed on should be redacted, or in the very least not shown to the public.

On the surface it's a reasonable demand, but it also smells fishy, kinda/maybe like a red herring, when "release the report" was all the rave until the day Mueller turned it in and said "no collusion". If Rand had made this request prior to Mueller's report being turned in, it would seem more non-partisan and legit. It really looks like a defense play more than anything else.

But sure, do that, unless the opposition has both valid and legitimate reasons to counter Rand's demand.

I can't see what valid reasons would apply to one but not the other.
