I don't think it's a profit thing... It's a PR/image thing. They are trying to have the show Rosanne without the main character. Basically they are willing to sacrifice the show if need be to avoid any bad PR. And yes there's a business sense to it.... But why??? Here's where I agree with you the consumer is complicit... Cause if the average consumer had any sort of sense Smollett would be 10x as toxic for the brand as Rosanne. That won't happen cause of the hypocritical left wing pc culture which rules the entrainment industry.

And no... I disagree that I'm just as hypocritical. I'm way better than them. Way way better.😉 Cause I'm not the one getting people fired. I could give a shit about him taking a . And he got a Nike deal out of it so yeah... Hardly a terrible outcome.

i wasnt trying to single u out to say u specifically are as bad as "hollywood" in general. Im not comparing u to hollywood but the general public. Just like ur not commenting on each person individualy in hollywood, but generalizing everyone as "hollywood".

Just like u didnt give a shit about kapernick getting black balled or not, alot of the public did, enough to make it happen. im sure alot of "hollywood" didnt want rosanne fired, but enough did.

Lastly. This seems out of place

When ur in a thread arguing for jussie to not be allowed to work on tv anymore. U might not be getting him fired but ur arguing for him to not be allowed to get a job in his profession. Which doesnt seem much different, and oddly enough is just what people against kaepernick argued for. That he can get a job, he has the right to work, just not back in the NFL.

1) actually I am generalizing Hollywood as they generally police certain types of behavior more than others, which is my point. And the type they police has more to do with their politics than anything else.

2) kapernick is also in the realm of sports, not Hollywood. Very different fan base, different political pressures. We're taking about a sport where you can make a come back after literally torturing dogs to death.

if you go back my original point was and has been more that it is not surprising how hypocritical Hollywood is being here more than me desiring he not work. I would much rather see Hollywood stop the phony outrage campaigns against artists I liked for much more minor offenses.. short of that I would like to see some consistency and have them maybe treat the fake hate crime guy at least as bad as the naughty tweeters. That's not even remotely hypocritical.

Ur getting no argument from me that there are alot of crappy people doing alot of crappy hypocritical crap in hollywood.

i just dont see much of a difference between hollywood and any other business or industry. Take ur pick, oil, automotive, firearms, sports, pharmaceutical etc... Corruption, hypocrisy, decisions based off whichever political leanings benefit them the most run rampant. The film industry or "Hollywood" doesent have a monopoly on that front.

my point was about the general publics hypocrisy matching hollywoods.

I use the NFL one as an example because like hollywood they're out in the public eye, and have fan bases from all walks of life. Rich/poor, right/left, black/white, christian/jew, young/old etc... people in general love movies and sports.

The NFL teams decisions to not sign Kaepernick was a direct result from the fans reaction, and protests/boycotts of his kneeling. Therefore it was the fans who decided he couldnt play in the league, since the owners based their decision off them.

Those same fans who felt his kneeling was such an offense that they wouldnt watch football again as long as he was in the League, had no problem watching woman beaters, child abusers, terrorists, a convicted dog abuser/killer or someone convicted of killing someone in a DUI.

If u dont see that as an example of the general public having an equal level of hypocrisy to rosanne being "banished" for her comments but jussie not for his actions then i guess were just going to have to agree to disagree

Now i might not be fully up to date on all these new fangled sex terms u kids lile to throw around, but let me see if i got this right.

In this scenario If rob is a cuck and he is cucking for me then he's getting joy/pleasure out of watching me "throw it in" someone. At this present time and sticking to the analogy wouldn't u be the one that im "throwing it in" that hes getting joy from?

How is this bad for him?

Neat, so you don't know the other ways the term is applied to people. At least you tried 👆

I am not saying the public is guilt free. I am basically saying that in an era where outrage campaigns are common place over the slightest racial infraction, faking a hate crime should be a serious stain on ones career and legacy, based on that model. The only reason it won't is because of politically led blindness.

And I think you are trying to give Hollywood more slack then they deserve, by pretending like the power is solely in the hands of the consumer. That's just not true. Or there would be no need to fire someone like Rosanne without waiting to see if the ratings actually drop. It's basically the modern form of blacklisting.

As for kapernick... I agree the NFL should not have black balled him but that seems to have been bad for business as well. People boycotted the super bowl, meanwhile kapernick got a massive Nike deal and went from some football player to a house hold name and icon of black activism. If anything his public image was benefitted by the whole ordeal... Which once again goes back to the left leaning politics that rule the entertainment industry by and large.

It’s aint over, The FBI and DoJ have now taken up the case.

So police had evidence with forensic trail (video footage, receipts for sale, signed check and telephone calls, etc.) and sworn statements from the Nigerian brothers, and the DA decided that she'd drop? "After being approached by a politically connected lawyer, State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx asked Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to turn over the investigationof Jussie Smollett’s reported attack to the FBI, according to communications provided to the Tribune.

Foxx reached out to Johnson after Tina Tchen, former chief of staff to first lady Michelle Obama, emailed Foxx saying the actor’s family had unspecified“concerns about the investigation.” Tchen, a close friend of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s wife, said she was acting on behalf of the “Empire” actor and his family. A relative later exchanged texts with Foxx.

These exchanges began Feb. 1, three days after Smollett claimed two men approached him near his Streeterville apartment building, yelled racist and homophobic slurs, hit him and put a noose after his neck. It would still be 2½ weeks before he was charged with making the story up, but some media outlets were already starting to question the actor’s account, citing unnamed police sources.

Lol Jussie's attorney is saying he might have identified the perps as white cuz they were wearing white face.

You just can't make this up. Pure gold.

I remember this test was done with a bunch of people and they were able to identify speakers as black or white from voice alone.

Even when white speakers spoke just like black people ("Eminem" types).

That's pretty weird that humans have that ability.

Black people were better able to identity the white people talking like black people than the white people. They could tell who the "impostors" were better than the whites.

I want to take this test. I wonder if I would be as "dumb" as Jussie or do really well.

I hope so, but I won't be shocked if he gets away with it.

And you know cuz Trump tweeted about it people are gonna whine, say he's racist cuz Jussie is black, etc.

The corrupt FBI that conspired against Trump? How can they be trusted?

I dunno, how about just insert whatever rationale leftists used to suddenly start trusting our intelligence agencies?

The only people who do not trust our intelligence agencies are Trump and his supporters. So the question stands, if Trump does not trust the FBI, then why does he think they will produce results in this case? If their investigation into him is a witch hunt, then how does he trust them to do the right thing with Smollett?

There was a time when the left was awfully suspicious of our intelligence agencies. Are you claiming this isn't true?

Was it Republicans breaking into FBI buildings and stealing info to expose?
