So from a Black man I’ll say this, be proud of your race, and accept some of them committed atrocities that can’t be forgiven, but learn from.
Also, this applies to all races, not just whites.
I don't take pride in anything I didn't personally accomplish and find the tendency of others to take pride in accomplishments they had no hand in helping with very strange honestly. I think people do it as a form of projection or wish-fulfillment, it helps their mental to take some solace in the accomplishments of other people who have a characteristic they share with you (be it ethnicity, race, city, country of origin, or whatever). I don't necessarily think that a person who has pride in the accomplishments of their white race is racist, though the sentiment can be used as a smokescreen for actual racism. Either way, I can't relate.
This is separate from being inspired by the actions of others, which I do feel.

I didn't use the term white pride. I asked if it's okay to say you're proud to be white. And the part of your post I quoted? Was really all that needed to be said.
You edited out the rest of my post because it was factual but didn't agree with your narrow views, as is often the case.

Good post. We think just about identically here.
Gammon is a pejorative term used in British political culture since around 2012, which received press coverage in 2018. In 2018, it became particularly known as a term to describe middle-aged or older white men, particularly those on the political right or who supported Brexit, who appear pink-faced when emotional.[1][2][3] The term is a comparison of their flushed skin colour to the pink of gammon, i.e. salted pork leg.[4]
In 2012, Caitlin Moran wrote that British Prime Minister David Cameron resembled "a slightly camp gammon robot" and "a C3PO made of ham" in her 2012 book Moranthology.[5][6][7][8]
In 2015, Ruby Tandoh called Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood a "walking gammon joint".[7]
In 2017, children's author Ben Davis tweeted a picture of nine members of a BBC Question Time audience and referred to them as "the Great Wall of Gammon".[9]
In 2018, there was some debate in the British media around whether the term was racist or ageist.[3][6] Actor and writer David Schneider has argued that it is a reaction to name-calling by some on the right, including terms like "snowflake, cuck, remoaner, libtard, beta, SJW and trigerred.

Culture is something of which to be proud. Race is not.
I happen to be very well-endowed. However, it is not something of which I am proud. It is not an accomplishment. It is not something I earned. It is not something I worked diligently to achieve. It is the luck of the genetic lottery. It is a gift I received by accident of birth.
Race is exactly the same thing. Be proud to be Irish, or Italian, or Polish. Celebrate your culture. But do not be proud to have white skin.

Ah so it's racist, gotcha.

Notice he didn't answer if it's okay to say you're proud to be white? Yet it's okay to be proud to be black and yet no not all black people are the same. Not all are African Americans. Kamala Harris is black, but not African American(she's from Jamaica, or at least her family is). So the excuse they use of "well white is a vague term, it could mean italian or german, so say you're proud to be german specifically!'.
The difference is that since most people of African descent in America are not the descendants of immigrants, but are the descendants of slaves, they do not know their specific ancestry, and have to rely on a broad identifier, such as "black."

How does one graduate HS and not know these basic US facts.

Your complaint appears to be that you have the right to exercise your freedom of speech to say something provocative, and people have the equal right to exercise their freedom of speech to respond.
Let me rephrase: can I say I'm proud to be white without a whiny b*tch crying racism or white supremacy?
And btw: blacks who aren't descended from slaves can't say they're proud to be black then, correct?
