I tried as well. I can improve the "prose" a bit especially with the independent clause situation post semi-colon. May have been better to split it up into two complete sentences but I wanted to show the intimacy between the two independent clauses instead of breaking it into a new sentence and rewording more confusingly.
Since I was "blind" to my mistake, I wanted to learn where I went wrong and fix it. If you can't see your mistake, best thing to do is ask someone else who can.
Oh well, thought it would be a learning opportunity for me.
