If you think a gun has no chance to keep you safe that is just asinine. It's not a guarantee, nobody said it was.

If you want a gun as a safety measure against lower-danger assaults ( = with items inferior to guns), that's logical and reasonable. If you think "shit, i'll better get my own guns, lots of people killing each other with guns", it's pointless, since in gun vs. gun situations, the one that's first wins.

I can't believe there are actually morons who argue that guns can't keep a person safe. Considering though that the same people who're pushing that blatant lie also tend to be the same people who think an unborn child is "not really human" and that socialism is somehow superior economic system to capitalism despite all the evidence that proves otherwise I guess it shouldn't really surprise me at all.
