That's because the tier thread is boo boo. How can beings be ranked above a person that tends to beat said persons consistently, even backed by a team? Hulk just outperformed Surfer not too long ago. I do not take the tier thread serious, at all. Hulk destroys Heralds, he should not be in the same category or below people he annihilates that have help backing them. Ignored.
It's called jobbing.
Just because Batman beat Karate Kid in a duel, in no way makes Batman on Karate Kids level in any way. Batman can not restrain Superman and use him as a human shield, nor punch through a mountain.

Just because Karate Kid can do that to Superman (in a continuity that no longer counts on battleboards), in no way it makes Karate Kid on Superman's level in any way.
You can drink yourself to death now, cd 😛

By that logic, Captain Marvel only ever beat Superman by "jobbing." 😛
There's the factor of consistency. Val was introduced as capable of holding his own with Superboy on day one, in his entrance exam. Every version since has him showcasing super people sparring ability.
Go to any continuity, and you'll find feats Val performs, that Batman could never do on his best day. The WEAKEST Karate Kid still cleared hundreds of thousands of tons of ice and snow off of a building with a single punch. Batman ain't blocking that on the boards, even if he did block him in their little sparring match.
My point, of course, is Hulk is nowhere close to Surfers level. Beating him in a fight doesn't negate all those times Surfer displayed staggering abilities that a one trick pony like Gamma-bytch couldn't dream of touching. The same way Thor, if he used Mjolnir as more then a glorified club, could have made a joke of Hulks attempts to "smash", and casually defeated him.

Why is it called jobbing? I want you to think real hard on this before answering it.

So if Frankenstein beats Superman, how can he only be on Superman's level? Surely he's higher? Stronger/faster/more durable?
I know I know, you're going to throw out the word 'consistently'. But with a character with as a few showings as Franky, surely he is on a higher level? As he 'consistently' beats Superman?
This then leads to the BZ. If Damborg has Magneto....well, Magneto consistently beats speedsters. Quicksilver being an obvious one.
So does that then apply? Quicksilver has showings of FTL speed, so Magneto has FTL reflexes?
Deathstroke consistently beats speedsters. Does that make him FTL? Despite having zero 'cheese' feats?

I seen your post Stilt, let me reply to this first.
Wait a minute, are you saying that every time someone defeats another person that puts all of their stats on equal footing? Do I honestly need to post a lot of Superman losses to prove that what you're saying is inaccurate. Things obviously doesnt work out like this.

I've become on the fence about Slade. His history IS pretty solid.
And if you look at the holy grail of "human with skill over super powers", fans of Karate Kid tend to ignore he's never displayed high speedster level abilities outside of countering speedsters in combat. You won't find him running around the Earth seven times a second, or running on water, or creating whirlwinds with his hands. If he can't disarm a room full of common thugs so fast they never see him move, how is it he can counter a character who can?
What makes Val Armorr's trends better then Slades?

I'm not.
You're the one saying so.
I asked where you put Franky. You said he beat Superman, so he's on that level.
My question is, surely he's HIGHER than that. Because how can a stronger/faster/more durable person LOSE to a weaker/slower less durable person?

I agree Delta. Didnt know the tier thread was recently updated.
You're proving that your reading comprehension is terrible like we've been telling you for years. If you'd actually paid attention you'd see Namebro was showing you where Superman is.
You're so terrible at everything yet have such a high opinion of yourself. You're living proof that participation trophies were a huge mistake.
