No, he was a Pure Communist.

Acts 4:32-35
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Of course he doesn't. Not surprising really.

We're all secretly commies.

YouTube video

Look at the racists getting triggered over Jesus being a communist and early Christians actually being communists. 🙂

Early Christians, specifically the first 2 centuries of Christianity, were communistic as all get out. Does this make you mad?

If any of you have time to read real academic work, read this book:

Notice the Christians insist on RED wine being drank. I never saw a nice white wine served at mass, not once.

You see I don't have a problem with sharing based on voluntary association.

Jesus did not exist.

He existed, second star to the right and straight on til morning. That is where you'll find Jesus.

Shit did I mix that up with another fictional character?

🙄

Keep telling yourself that. Your unbelief won't make a damn bit of difference on Judgment Day and yes, you'll see that JD is real as well but by then it'll be too late for you.

Some Christians have this image of a Fire-and-Fury Jesus, I prefer the Caring-Loving-Socialist Jesus who fed the poor and needy, gave out free medical care and told people to love each other; not harm and kill.

His dad, though.

The apple fell far from THAT tree.

By the modern definition yes he was

Nah, He wasn't. He was far from it. 👆

I suppose next you'll be pathetically trying to make an argument that He supported abortion as well. 🙄

How do you reconcile Jesus' statement that a camel can pass through the eye of a needle with more ease then a rich man can get into heaven? You take issue with the idea of charity-through-force (which isn't even true, all taxes are beneficial for the wealthy, but that's an argument foanother r day), but Jesus makes it pretty clear that God has a low opinion of those who horde wealth. Is God sending rich people to hell for the sin of being rich morally preferable to the government taxing the wealthy at gun point?

There is a explicit statement ("give to Caesar…"😉 that Jesus did not advocate for a government application of his teachings, so he wasn't really a socialist even if Christians are communists by conviction.

Yeah.. Christians Tend to Lean towards the Type of Governments that typically Declare their Beliefs ILLEGAL.

Makes Sense.

You are right, I messed up the wording 😛

"Christians are into redistribution by conviction"

Except that they really aren't.

Well there's the rest of the context. His disciples then ask, "who then can be saved?" Which casts a much wider net to which Jesus's response was "With man this is impossible, but through God all things are possible."

The idea is that men aren't perfect and that wealth would lead one into a temptation of idolizing wealth, just as Proverbs also notes that a state of poverty (commensurate with socialist societies) would also tempt one towards theft and the rebuking of God.

I know that gets thrown around a lot by prosperity preachers and shit, but if you read other parts of the Bible for context it specifically talks about the sin that goes along with making an idol out of money, as the young ruler did. You have examples of other people like Abraham and Job who were rather materially prosperous but unlike the rich man in the story to which you're referring did not place that wealth above God.

Having the government take wealth by force doesn't exactly solve the principle issue here because it is not an act of the person's own character. Would people not then make an idol of the state? Would those treating the rich as a bottomless trust fund not make of themselves people who idolize money? Would those who hoard wealth getting all their stuff taken not fall into a bitter resentment rather than peaceful acceptance and grace?

If you read the parable of the talents there's also a difference between just hoarding wealth and actually putting it to proper use.

gonna cut this short because I have a several hour shift coming up
