Was Jesus a Socialist?

Redistribution of wealth prevents revolution like in France long ago or more recently Sudan. It's also morally important.

The way we do it is problematic, though.

Having a list of approved beneficiaries for certain programs, while leaving equally needy people on their own who don't call into certain checkboxes, could feed unrest.

His dad, though.

The apple fell far from THAT tree.

Jesus Himself said that He and His Father are One. Yes, they are seperate beings (despite what Pentecostals may think) but they are exactly alike in thought. So no, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

It's sad that supporters of socialism can't see the difference between forced redistribution of wealth and giving to others freely out of the kindness of your heart the way Jesus did and taught... smh.

It's also pretty obvious that those who keep stubbornly claiming that Jesus was a socialist or even a communist (lol) didn't even bother to watch the short 5 minute video I posted in link in OP. Guess they're too afraid that they might learn the truth that He wasn't a socialist.

You have examples of other people like Abraham and Job who were rather materially prosperous but unlike the rich man in the story to which you're referring did not place that wealth above God.

At least God treated Job properly given how much the guy revered him...lol.

Keep in mind that God didn't do all of those horrible things to Job. He allowed Satan to do them to him. Only limitation God put on Satan was that he wasn't allowed to kill him. It was a test to see just how strong Job's faith was. I agree that it seems pretty harsh and cruel to us for God to give Satan free reign to do whatever he wanted to do to Job.

But then, seeing as how God is the One who created us, the earth, and the rest of the universe I don't think we have any right to be judging or questioning Him for anything He does or doesn't do.

So it's settled, Jesus was a socialist-communist, much like what the Right (ie the people who became Trumpers) labelled Obama.

So it's settled then, Jesus was not even remotely a socialist. 👆

Glad we cleared that up. 🙂

That and Job got rewarded for it all. In Life and getting a pretty sweet ride up in heaven.

The Religo-Haters tend to ignore that bit.

He didn't kill Job but I'm pretty sure he let Satan kill his family. And it's not like God brought them back to life afterwards.

You're essentially saying 'he created it so he can destroy it". Which I guess is a fair point, but the story makes God seem like a cosmic being who loves to play games as opposed to some being full of unconditional love for all of humanity.

Why would you want to come back to life if You went to Heaven? Moses had a Shit Fit when they just called him via Seance once.

I like God best when he flies through Egypt killing people.

It just seems like a cool vampire story, all that blood on buildings and shit. Good old omnipotent god needed people to identify who he was going to murder. 👆 Good stuff.

No idea what this post is in regards to?

All I'm saying is that God allowed Satan to do all those things to Job because it was a test of Job's faith. God wasn't playing a game.

It's obvious you are just trolling here with this reply and thus it isn't worth taking seriously.

Satan is absolutely a fictional character.

I'm not seeing the substantiation of the leap from "someone thinks people should do this, therefore they also think people should force them to do this"
