With the 2020 election just around the corner, and with us having actual Socialism in Congress,

You say that, but then link a video which spends more than a third of its runtime commenting on how the term "socialism" is being misused in American politics, and that almost no one is actually protesting capitalism. Did you even watch it? 😖
I am in favor of capitalism, I posted a video that favors my views. That’s my whole point.
How is it being misused when politicians site Cuba as a basis of it working?
Just because our politicians put democratic ahead of the word, doesn’t mean it suddenly changes meaning. All it means is that politicians skewed the word to better help their side.

The question is been asked because powerful Congress individuals, professors in ivy leagues schools, and some rich individuals are saying Socialism is the right path, when all of them make their money under a capitalistic environment.I want to know in what point in time did those individuals switch.
And that's where the break in understanding comes in. Most people advocating "socialism" are advocating for the societal model rather than the economic model.

Yup!
We are a Constitutional, Democratic, Republic with a mixed economy meaning we mix Capitalism and Socialism.
And to keep the word-gamers from messing with my words.
Capitalism in this sense is defined as:
an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/capitalism
Socialism is defined as:
a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state - more specifically defined as a system in which extensive state regulation, with limited state ownership, has been employed by democratically elected governments in the belief that it produces a fair distribution of income without impairing economic growth.
Whenever I see annual world rankings of the best cities in the world to live for quality of life, I see no American cities in the top twenty, or even thirty some years.
When it's a ranking of best countries, America is lucky to be in the top twenty some years.
Now, I say this as a lifelong resident of Canada (which ranks high in quality of life, BTW), so judge me as just a stone thrower if you want, I'm just repeating facts.
Having to pick Capitalism vs. Socialism is like trying to provoke us into picking extremes, when what you could do is just pick the best of both systems and use them, like we do up here - we're a capitalist democracy with lots of socialist strands in our governing systems. I believe in a strong social system that provides security and health care, and I don't feel the need to keep stockpiling guns in my house because I think any moment the government is going to break down my door and drag me off.
You live in the country with tens of millions, you need a government body. It's why I don't get libertarians who think they can live with virtually no government.
Keep in mind, every big market crash in America - 1929, 1987, 2008 - a Republican government was in charge. That was rampant capitalism at it's worst.

Socialism is socialism. It's laughable how you leftists are always trying to defend it by dressing it up with nice sounding words: "democratic socialism", "Societal socialism." LOL. It's like putting lipstick on a stinky pig lol.
Socialism pales in comparison to free market capitalism no matter what "kind" of socialism it is.

That'll be why the US isn't even in the top 10 countries to live and all the ones that are have capitalist economies with socialist policies.

Feel free to stop using your electricity, all FDA regulated food and drugs, police, fire department, traffic lights, public roads, cars, electronic devices, etc.
All of those come from democratic socialism and capitalism.
Or you could stop being an obstinate dumbass because you're too ignorant to understand what the world socialism means without being triggered. haermm
