Why didn't Peter just use E.D.I.T.H. to fight the villains?

Because

Spoiler:
Murdock barely got him out of the legal trouble.

And

Spoiler:
Happy's case was more complicated, he could still go to prison if not for the way the movie ended.

When, exactly?

The moment that makes most sense was

Spoiler:
Otto interacting with Norman, asking him if he is ready to be whole again, as I said. Seen clearly on Norman's face. Which happened before Spider-Sense, so we're on same page... unless you want to believe it happened even earlier - hence why I'm asking, when? And what did he benefit from it?

GG wasn't a schemer in this film. He was all about spontaneous action (which is exactly what makes him so dangerous).

His only master plan involved including Wolverine-claws in his gauntlets 😂

The script could've been written by carver.

People would still love the movie, because of the cast and their performance. Never underestimate the power of our nostalgia.

I feel like we're on the same page for the most part, just not on the quality of the script. I think you're being way too hard on it. Not that it was perfect mind you (it's no Winter Soldier), but it isn't nearly as bad as you seem to be implying.

Also, we both know what Carver does barely constitutes "writing".

Perhaps that is because you're way too used to Superman stories.

Parker may also be naive and idealistic, but he knows he can't fix everything. His limits make him interesting.

The carver comparison was a joke, obv.

Any thoughts on

Spoiler:
the final costume
?

Also, which villains

Spoiler:
have you recognized in the multiverse barrier scene
?

Parker in the comics, maybe.

Spoiler:
From what little I saw, I liked it. And it fits with the whole "this trilogy was actually his origin story" theme too.

Rhino, Kraven, Scorpion and I think Black Cat? But they were only glances so could have just been my mind playing tricks.

People say [spoiler]it was a mix of both Tobey's and Andrew's costumes.

Red spider symbol on his back (that we can see) + blue parts of the costume looking like Andrew's, I guess.

Agreed on the first two, haven't seen any others - def need to study that scene.

Spoiler:
I didn't get a good enough look at the suit to judge, I just liked the vibrancy of the red and blue. Hopefully we see more once Hot Toys unveils their 200 dollar Spider-Man toy.

That or when the bluray comes out.

Memes are already being made, lol.

Spoiler:
Kinda... conflicted about the red spider thing. Sure, tribute to Tobey and everything, but still... it was what made Tobey unique...

Well, it's not like you can accuse the film of being wholly original. I mean, we obviously agree that it plays hard on our nostalgia.

I'll be honest though, I haven't really been a fan of any of the

Spoiler:
MCU Spider-suits. They're not terrible or anything. I just find them... kinda bland.

Question-

Spoiler:
Why didn't Strange use his magics to try and make Thanos 'forget' about his conquest to extinguish half of the universe's populace?

😂

I would say the Mind Stone but he didn't have it at the time.

If you want a serious answer... perhaps he didn't know

Spoiler:
the spell
back then?

The character is a walking plot device, he does whatever the story needs him to do, including jobbing in all sort of ways.

The entire MCU is a plot device filled with PIS.

Fourteen million outcomes for the Infinity War and only Iron Man can save the day by dying?

I didn't mind him "jobbing" in NWH because if I'm being honest, I think Spidey gets a pass in general, and is entitled to it.

When can I start posting the memes in this thread?

Without spoiler tagging them, I mean.

The movie was a meme goldmine, lol.

I've been wondering that, tbh. The movie has only been out for two weeks, and because of lockdowns it's slowed down a lot of people seeing it, even as well as it's done financially (not to mention the other ways people have seen it).

Yeah, let's wait a while longer 👆

Any thoughts on Jamie Foxx's

Spoiler:
I hoped you were a black guy
scene?

I bet it was his own idea to include that facepalm

I let out a sensible chuckle. I didn't mind it, tbh. I also took it as a slight nod to

Spoiler:
Miles, to get the audience thinking about black Spider-Man etc
.

Yeah,

Spoiler:
them teasing us with a possible Miles appearance in the future is why I don't complain about it as much as I would want to.

I still think both Electro and Lizard failed at redeeming themselves, quality-wise --- Garfield's biggest problem is that his villains are extremely poorly written.

There are rumours of TASM3 being considered.

Not excited at all. I'd rather prefer Raimi 4.

I'd like to see both, tbh. I think

Spoiler:
Garfield with better material could really nail it.
