US passed 160K deaths. The 200k mark is looking like it's going to be hit and surpassed rather quick unfortunately.

We're currently in the top ten, 8th place out of 152 to be exact for deaths-per-million.

Yeah your deaths were not even 3 times ours not long ago, but it is past 3times now and will likely get to 4 times.

Out of all developed countries US has by far handled this the worst.

Still can't believe Trumps method of helping the Economy is pouring money into the Stock Market facepalm

Have you kept track of the numbers in the EU?

The EU is a highly diverse trading block. Not a nation mate.

I'm fully aware, i'm also aware a number of them have higher deaths per capita than the US and some are very close. My point is, if we want to say look at USA we should also take perspective of those around us that are barely mentioned yet have UHC and lockdowns etc that are first world countries.

😉

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

Those give a breakdown of each country in the top 10🙂

Among the 45 countries with more than 50,000 COVID-19 cases, the U.S. has the eighth-highest number of deaths per 100,000 people: 47.93 deaths from the coronavirus for every 100,000 Americans. Belgium has the highest per capita death rate: 86.3 deaths per 100,000.

But in terms of case fatality ratio, the U.S. is doing significantly better than many other countries. The country's case fatality ratio is 3.3%, meaning that for every 100 people with COVID-19, only about three die.

Big thing is though Snow, the US is one nation under Trump.

He’s incapable of reading anything that doesn’t support his confirmation bias

Here are some more fun numbers:

https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/08/05/899365887/charts-how-the-u-s-ranks-on-covid-19-deaths-per-capita-and-by-case-count

Among the 45 countries with over 50,000 cases, the U.S. has the 24th-highest case fatality ratio. And the U.S. rate of 3.3% is much lower than that of the U.K. at 15.1% or Italy at 14.2%.

So despite the daily death toll of 1,000 in the U.S., there is some truth to Trump's assertion that the low case fatality ratio is a positive sign in the United States.

As for his assertion that "we have tested more people than any other country," there is also some truth to this. The U.S. has conducted more coronavirus tests than any other country in terms of sheer numbers — more than 50 million.

However, when you consider population size, the U.S. comes in ninth place, having conducted 174 tests per 1,000 people. That's much lower than the per capita rate in Luxembourg at 691 per 1,000 people, the United Arab Emirates at 525 and Denmark at 268.

Thing is though Snow many places in the US have a low population density despite the high population. These act as buffers, but this has been discussed probably six times in this thread.

If you don't like how empirical data is produced by Johns Hopkins that's not a me problem.

The numbers in my quote there don't care about population density 😉

Something like this number does matter about population density.

You struggle with international criticism?

I think you struggle with sitting at home on the computer thinking your somehow involved in international affairs when you are not. You live in Africa. Nobody cares

The EU as a whole has a much lower rate of deaths.

There are a few countries that have a very high rate though, particular Spain and Italy, the two early countries to get it bad have a high rate, and Sweden which didn’t do a lockdown has a comparatively high rate. And then there’s also Belgium, which is an odd case though, since their counting of deaths is a bit different, they basically do a reverse Russia, Russia counts almost no deaths as corona related, Belgium counted basically all deaths as Corona relates.

👆 Top notch!
