So my barber has spent 30 yrs working and saving to open his own barber shop. A cpl months ago he found a shop and has been in the process of getting everything ready, and was supposed to have his grand opening today.
He had picked out every little detail and had things shipped from all over the country like custom barber chairs, the flooring, mirrors etc.. This is legit his lifes dream.
I went there today for the opening and to get a trim, but it wasn't open, so i went to where he "used" to work and he was there.
Due to the virus his opening has been delayed, possibly indefinitely. He's been working his regular barber job in the mean time, but the owner told him they're probably closing next week until further notice.
Now doesnt know how long he can pay rent and expenses on his new business without being able to open it and losing his regular job at the same time.
Obviously it doesn't compare to dying from it, and im sure others are going thru the same/worse, but man he looked crushed when he was telling me and knowing how hard he's worked for it and how much it means to him was heartbreaking to see.
