New Zealand and most of Scandinavia are socialist countries. Or social democracies if you like that term better.
They still run businesses there, you can still invest and make more money than your neighbor who works the same hours. And they are still democracies.
It just means putting more money to social welfare and healthcare (which gives more people opportunities to progress in life), and less money wasted on pointless wars. And not constantly cucking out to billionaires and big corporations.

America has many socialist laws, policies and programs, polices that many of these anti-socialism ranters use and sometimes even take advantage of themselves.
