The most interesting thing is the mutation rate. Sometime ago I explained it was mutating in various directions and given how rapid this was happening we would likely have more virulent versions. I also stated usually with more virulent versions we have less fatalities, however the reduced lethality is never guaranteed with mutation, neither is immunity for those infected by another version. This is why we have many different sets of vaccines in a flu shot and why herd immunity without vaccines cannot work. We are seeing this now. I love being right due to underpinning scientific knowledge.
I take no pleasure in being right always. Especially as I have a delay getting my second shot. DDM and Co. Who argued mutation wasn't an issue. Stupid is as stupid does I guess.

Viruses and mutation kinda go hand in hand. Nutty to have argued otherwise or that it couldn't be an issue.

Yup they do and when you have as few genes in the code as COVID does you will get many.

Fact check: Unfounded claim that 50 million Americans would die from COVID-19 vaccine

It's been a year since Judy Mikovits made that claim and it's been 6 months since Americans started getting the covid19 vaccines. No proof that the vaccine will kill people aside from the extremely rare person who has a terrible reaction.

Antivaxxers are still at it though. It's like they're completely immune to logic, reason and science.

These people are insane

Their new angle is that the vaccines will start killing people in three years or so.

They literally have no logic or reason for these claims, but they've never needed that to plough ahead.

The Biden admin announced that the US will be heavily exporting covid19 vaccines to other nations in need, now that the US has a massive surplus in part due to around 25% of Americans refusing to get vaccinated.

It's the same people who politicized not wearing a mask during a pandemic as being some form of idiotic defiance.

It's the same people that got us to having over 600,000 Americans dead in over year.

Heard a man from the CDC talking today on the radio and he explained that the Flu kills about 0.1% of its infected, while the Coronavirus has a mortality rate of about 2%.

So the potential for a very large number of deaths is there.

Rob called the scale first... I had no idea it would be this bad at the start.

The only thing I called was that we shouldn't be so dismissive and that we should absolutely take the virus seriously, not the "meh, it will be like a little flu at worst" approach some had and continued to push despite the ever mounting infection and deaths.

Even, I didn't think it would be this bad, I'd been in KSA during MERs and really had no idea.

TBF, over 350K died in year one. We're over 610K now.

Trump set the tone and attitude for those people concerning covid19 by downplaying the virus from the start and continuing to do so long into the thick of it. "This is their new hoax" -Trump, that was said in late Feb 2020.

Was a new virus, no one really knew. But you didn't maintain the "this is nothing much" view when the numbers/data starting piling in, you acknowledged and corrected.

This is true, really anyone honest and sane had no choice but to do so.

Our lockdown got extended again.

Hopefully things settle down soon.

Triple mask it.

I had a customer at work who said he was vaccinated and it was stupid he still had to wear a mask.

It really is ridiculous.

To quote an old meme, fvck you robtard

I still have to wear one at work: and they mandated the whole place be vaccinated. So everyone is... And that feels a little ridiculous... But I'm sure it's about lawsuits now.. which is fine... I'm not quitting my job over having to wear a mask. In stores, they put up signs saying you don't have to wear one if you are vaccinated, but we all still do, because it feels like the polite thing to do...

It also feels kinda weird not having one on in public now...
