WHAAAAAAAT? how could anyone be so recklessly obtuse? someone posing as a medical scientist, whoring for internet points on a dead forum?

I'm gonna need to see some proof before I believe that ludicrous shit 🙂

San Francisco may have become the first major American city to hit herd immunity to the coronavirus, experts say.

San Francisco is still recording a small number of coronavirus cases, about 13.7 per day, said Dr George Rutherford, professor of epidemiology at University of California San Francisco, but they don’t appear to be gaining enough of a foothold in the population to trigger wider outbreaks.

“That is what herd immunity looks like,” Rutherford said. “You’re going to have single cases, but they’re not going to propagate out.” -snip

Excellent 👆

No real surprise though, the Bay Area has the highest rate of vaccinations in the US.

Also props to Whirly, I believe he was first to say early last year that herd immunity was nigh impossible without wide spread vaccine use, while some claimed we could get herd immunity by letting covid run unchecked. It's in this thread.

Yeah, I posted it early, because Science rarely lies.

Yeah 2-6 months of development v.s. the average 10 years of development, sans animal testing, is definitely science.

Same with not anticipating that the spike protein could be a toxin. How scientific !

Oh dear, you're one of these people who doesn't understand the spike protein during infection is different to the one in vaccination aren't you?

Look up Lei et al...

He also doesn't understand that due to the pandemic, greater flexibility was allowed, where the pharmaceutical companies were allowed to work on multiple steps of the processes side-by-side instead of one at a time, cutting down the timeline. Also the billions of dollars these companies put into the vaccines helped speed the process.

Anti-vaxxers are weird.

I'm not anti vax, I'm anti state science. This would be a case of that. You telling me the state pointed it's guns at the market to artificially speed up the development process only enforces my position to be skeptical of it - as you should be with most things.

And to be honest modern modelling and automated gene synthesis speeds things up drastically. I posted this long ago at the start of all this to highlight how advanced we were then. The last year has created quantum leaps in gengeneering by the way, way beyond the original article. Still interesting in hindsight, it was this tech, which was why I was confident given the resources we would have a vaccine.

The doctors and epidemiologists quoted in the article must be one of those people too. Why doesn't their scientific pedigree hold any currency with you ?

Because Bridles hypotheses are incredibly flawed using flawed research and data. I'm assuming your link is the Bridle rubbish or the studies which were dodgy he pushed. Even the figures with side effects are extremely contrary to that narrative as very few people have issues with any of the Vaccines.

Hey Whirly i like ur sig

"I'm not anti vax, I'm anti state science." The f**k?

Bit yeah, just no. In reality, it's called threat assessment. Restrictions were relaxed some due to there being a pandemic, which allowed these companies to speed up the timeline. They did so not under "threat" from the government, but because a working vaccine would bring them billions in profit. You know, that crunchy good capitalism.

Understandable how a pandemic, which caused billions to be invested in R&D, would lead to jumps in technology in the given field(s).

Yup, it's done for many fields of life science what WW2 did for aviation or the Apollo programme did for Engineering and computing.

Meant "R&D", oops. But yeah. Throw lots of incentives and money at something, you tend to jump ahead. Not always though.

the vaccine is the tip of the iceberg of what this is going to lead to.
