McCain was born on a US army base in Panama. Tbf, it was American soil. He’s dead now anyway.

Bases and embassies are considered US soil, that's why McCain was eligible to run.

Civilian medical centers are not. Cruz is a Canuk.

His mommy was a US citizen which in turn makes him a US citizen, no matter the soil he was born on he might have had to apply for it if he lived outside the states until 18 though.

On a personal level, I really don't care. I think naturalized Americans should be illegible too.

Obama was born in Hawaii, he even released his birth certificate to the public because Republicans were being dicks about it.

But on fantasy grounds that he was born in Kenya, his mother is an American and therefore he would have qualified anyways under the same logic that Cruz now qualifies.

Republican Governor of Texas Greg Abbott issued an executive order Thursday, reiterating his opposition to mask mandates, Covid-related business restrictions, and vaccination requirements, and issuing fines of up to $1,000 on those who fail to comply.

The measure bans government agencies from requiring individuals to get vaccinated or provide proof of vaccination. Public and private entities receiving state funding are prohibited from denying entry to individuals based on their vaccination status.

"Texans have the individual right and responsibility to decide for themselves and their children whether they will wear masks, open their businesses, and engage in leisure activities."
