Coronavirus

Monmouth polling:

More Americans say President Trump has done a good job (50%) rather than bad job (45%) dealing with the coronavirus outbreak. Governors, though, get even better ratings for handling the outbreak, with 72% of the public saying their state’s governor has done a good job to just 18% a bad job. Opinion of how Trump has dealt with the crisis is decidedly partisan, with the number saying he has done a good job ranging from 89% of Republicans to 48% of independents and 19% of Democrats. Public praise for the nations’ governors is much more bipartisan at 76% of Democrats, 73% of Republicans, and 67% of independents saying their governor has done a good job dealing with the situation.

The Poll !

Nice, multiple polls where the approval rating is higher than the disapproval rating.

Lol wow. Insanity.

“Obviously,” Trump added, “I think I can speak from a lot of experience, because it’s been out there for 20 years, so it’s not a drug that you have a huge amount of danger with. It’s not like a brand new drug that’s just been created that may have an unbelievable, monumental effect, like kill you.”

“I sure as hell think we ought to give it a try,” Trump concluded. “I mean there’s been some interesting things happened — and some good, very good things. Let’s see what happens, we have nothing to lose. You know the expression, What the hell do you have to lose?”- Trump

Agreed absolute insanity.

Agreed, totally insane anyone would be pathetic enough to blame Trump since he never said go eat fish tank cleaning solution. Glad we're on the same page!

not as pathetic as not seeing a problem with our comander in chief saying this lie to a frightened public.

Agreed it's not as pathetic as that it's way more pathetic.

You’re reading the March 11-12 results. The March 18-19 results was 55% in favor, 43% not and 1% skipped.

No, I am reading the results from Ipsos linked in the Newsweek article.

The hilarity of attacking Trump over this made me lulz, this is just exactly how pathetic coverage for this gets.......honey I'm scared.....hurry rummage through our cleaningn supplies to fix the problem......never mind webmd or simply researching online to make sure ingesting a fish bowl cleaning solution is bad for your health.

i hope this lack of culpability extends to the media when they lie to the public for their own gain.

Nothing will be their fault right?

I wonder if his rising approval rating for handling this is in part due to the fact we've seen some bipartisan praise.

I was shocked to see Ilhan Omar compliment him.

Yeah it's a special level of insanity. I saw a reporter do a tweet thread about this and it wasn't until 8 tweets in that she mentioned what they consumed was fish tank cleaner lol.

There is a long road from what Trump said to...consuming fish tank cleaner. This is a weird hill to die on for those who wanna blame him for this.

that road might not be that long

"NBC News spoke to the wife, who said they learned of chloroquine's connection to coronavirus during a President Donald Trump news conference, which "was on a lot actually." They took it because they "were afraid of getting sick," she said.,

But they're probably the only ones

Oh wait

"One online aquarium retailer, which was sold out of "the wonder drug" Tuesday, included in its terms of use that customers agree to use chloroquine "ONLY in the treatment and maintenance of ornamental fish. ... We agree not to intentionally divert these chemicals for any other use."

It's telling that you choose to use the term "fish tank cleaner" rather than Chloroquine Phosphate which really isn't "a long way" from Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine to people who don't know.

It's fish tank cleaner, with a warning on it not to consume it.

It's not like they didn't know this was meant to clean fish tanks. So nope this ain't on Trump.

Time to go back to the mister yuck sticker in a modern updated version.

Well, it seems dishonest to think drinking a fish tank cleaning version of it is the same as taking a prescribe dose of it.

The dude died from overdosing on the wrong kind of the same drug.

It would be like saying water is good for you.

Yes, good for you when you drink it in realistic portions. Not trying to inject ice into your veins.

Getting a prescription for an anti-viral vs. drinking it are definitely not the same thing. Trump is not to blame at all. Not even a tiny bit. These people are morons.

Also apparently they didn't even have the virus. They were just scared. So if we're placing blame I wonder who would be to blame for convincing these people the situation was so dire they said "f*ck trying to get any kind of medication, hell screw even getting tested" and decided instead to ingest a substance aquariums use to clean fish tanks.

Jaden's comment is legit. He's got a Ph.D. in this shit.

But I'm quite sure the pharmacokinetics are different from the medical dosing and cleaning chemicals when ingested.
