To clarify, I'm not arguing Starfire won't blitz due to CIS. I'm mostly arguing she isn't actually lightspeed or capable of blitzing. I don't believe "space cheese" should always be dismissed, but I do believe writers aren't usually concerned with mathematical accuracy. If the story requires any given flier to be at Mars in a short amount of time, they will do so. I don't think writers consider the magnitude of interstellar distances though, especially with characters that never display similar speed any other time.
Similarly, the story required Rogue to save Wolverine from a laser. The scene is meant to say "she's fast and cares for her teammates" rather than "she's literally faster than light." Same for Psylocke and her lightspeed "feats." That was my point with all that.
The high meta tier is generally supersonic/hypersonic, with high ends like any other tier. Dedicated speedsters might go beyond that more often. I get that lines can blur, but I don't think I'm saying anything outrageous.
Similarly, I think we overplay the real life speed of thought vs comic speed of thought in forum blitzes. We accept that comic humans are stronger or more durable than real life humans, but we act like they don't think ridiculously faster too.
