Thankfully, I never saw the raving praise. It was always the kind of stuff you mention: good but flawed.I am DEFINITELY going to pay the full $60. I do not waste my money on anything extra. Nothing.
Except games. And at that, I usually only buy 1 game every 6 months these days. But lockdown has given me more time.
If you haven't gotten it yet, I'd say wait. I bought into the hype and bought it full price and was fairly disappointed by it. The game is very short and it's basically like playing Fallout in space. It's like a shittier version of Fallout: New Vegas.
If you can get it for cheap it's not a bad game. It's just not that good either imo.

I like ACG. Seems like a cool guy.I’ve been playing Final Fantasy 14. The mmo. Any FF fans should give it a try. Particularly for the latest expansion Shadowbringers. It was the best FF story/experience in 20 years. I loved it.
It does seem fantastic if you're into those games though. 👆 I still listen to the music as it comes out. Some of those songs are really good.

It's good. One of the few Metroidvania's with fun combat.

Damn. Okay, I'll wait.
I want a game that I can play, with side quests, for 50-100 hours.

Played that one, too.
Woah, it says I played it for 79 hours. Damn, I played that game a lot.

I'm doing a hard run.
It really changes the experience. Those big stone giants you fight early one shot you, even with gems in your defense and health. Enemies become an actual threat, and force you to learn how to crowd control.
Continuing the line of Metroidvania's, I finally gave A Robot Called Fight a serious play. Got it on sale for about a buck.
It's ok. The hook is randomly generated maps, which in practice means you'll see some parts of the map constantly, or variations on similar maps.
Also went back to A Binding of Isaac and Castle Crashers. BOI is the one that started a genre that includes games like Enter the Gungeon and Nuclear Throne, and they are VERY fun imo.
I only have the original and the add on, never got "rebirth" or "afterbirth", but the classic is dirt cheap if you want it. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The original free version of Spelunky.
If you're into rogue likes, Metroidvania's, Indiana Jones, this is a must play. The games a classic.
Looks like Epic games store tried giving away GTA V, and their servers have been overloaded ever since.
That's hilarious, considering it's so ancient anyone who wanted it should have bought it, and its funny that giving away most of the Arkham library and the entire Lego Batman trilogy all at once didn't crash them.
GTA is fun and all, but I'll take role playing as Batman over jacking cars any day.
