Hmm.... might have to check some of them out on Amazon then. I'd definitely like to have a good gaming PC as I'd greatly enjoy adding mods to some of my favorite games. I know the graphics are much better as well. Like I said though, I'm skeptical I'd be able to use my Bose speakers with it and sound is just as important to me as graphics.
I guess it depends on your budget. A lot of people think you need 2 or $3k to get a good gaming pc and that’s not true. You can get a very good one for under $1000 and a perfectly decent one for $500. I recently got a gaming laptop that I’ve been using while I’m away from home and it cost about $850 on sale and it can run anything I throw at it.
Of course there are also new consoles coming out soon. So it might be best to wait for those.

I got annoyed at Dragons Age Origin Ultimate Edition is on sale.
I just have to get it at that price, all the dlc included and no EA login BS at GOG.
But that means I can't sit back with my Xbox 360 gamepad, beer in my lap, and play that version. No, now I have to use a keyboard and mouse, which means up close and personal to the computer instead of laying back on the couch.
I guess there's always a wireless keyboard and mouse. Not quite the same as a gamepad.
Wow, there are too many sales on GOG now. I see Everspace is 80% off, something I've had my eye on for awhile now.
As much as I complain about prices, you tend to spend way more when everythings 5 dollars, compared to a sale from 30-15, or 60-40.
I bet the growing trend of higher price games is costing Steam and other outlets more money, because of this mindset.

Make that 10.90 something.
5.99 for base game, 4.99 for obligatory dlc with bug fixes.
Dirty pool, well played.
DDM, you might want to look into Everspace if you like space arena shooters. Gets compared to Freelancer in terms of controls. Also has Roguelike elements, where you blast through arenas unlocking permanent upgrades, die, and do it again.
Think FTL: Faster Than Light, put into real time combat. Never knowing just what's around the bend, or if you're up to handling it.

Holy shit, just watched a video review of it...seems like it might be right up my alley!
imp, I think it has more to do with a decrease in fight-or-flight response which comes with aging

I used to mercilessly dominate at fps. now... not so much

not only that, but I don't have the same fun when I do manage to get in "the zone". I find it kind of irritating nowadays. it's why I gave up on reflex-based gaming

Even my 21 and 17 year old are big boys now... The ever growing number grand kids and my daughter are the only ones I fancy my chances against these days. 😂 although, I haven't even seen the last 2 grand kids yet.
I think that's why nature gives us "dad strength" as a consolation prize
