Well, you convinced me to get Everspace and I enjoyed that for 2 days. So I'll trust you on this one, too. 🙂

If I don't like the game, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Do you like Megaman style challenges?

Same idea, level platformer with iconic bosses. Challenging without being ball bustingly difficult imo.

And its easy to get upgrades with very little grind. Health and such, various items, its literally as hard as you want it to be.

I'm happy for you, bud, but I don't know jack about creating a pc rig. You're obviously much more knowledgeable about something like that than I am.

Building a PC is much easier than you think. If you can watch a few youtube tutorials, take your time, and read the instructions, you can do it fine. It's basically like legos but honestly easier unless a component is defective. You can also always buy a prebuild one for not much more.

Honestly though I think both PC's and consoles are good. They both have benefits over the other. So many PC games are buggy/unplayable at release and yet their console versions always work just fine. Developers tend to prioritize the console versions of their games because more people play on consoles and because there are less variables on consoles. If you want things that "just work", without having to tweak or fiddle with settings, or possibly even just wait for a patcy for the game to be playable, then consoles are the way to go. PC's are good because of the freedom they offer the player, and you can usually find PC versions of games cheaper than the console counterpart. And as Broly said, the graphical potential for PC's is much higher than consoles, but the cost to get that increased graphics is also much higher.

Sounds great, actually. I'll check it out.

I like RPG games where if you put in the effort, you can become a monster and roll over the enemies. I really really like games that have a great story but still rewards players for putting in the effort to grind WITH SATISFACTORY GRINDING ELEMENTS.

Oh yeah, you're gonna LOVE Rebel Galaxy.

Cruising around in the Blackgate. 18 anti-fighter beam lasers, 20 capship vaping beam cannons.

I don't even think you're supposed to beat the final boss the first time you meet it. But I totally beat it. The game just treated it like it never happened, and got to fight it again.

I'm playing that game, already.

It's very similar to Everspace in that you need to earn earn earn credits. After earning them, you can buy dreadnaught class ships.

I'm rolling over everything and I have MK3 weapons. The voice acting is absolutely TERRIBLE at times.

The only time I died was when I rescued Aunt Juno. I died twice. Because I was a dumbass and flew into the enemy base trying to kill everything.

Took it more slowly since then. I have barely gotten any hull damage since then.

I stop and kill every single red enemy on the screen as I'm flying to missions. I earned 100k-500k credits every single mission this way. I have maxed everything, at the moment, and I have 9 million credits.

Since I've figured out how to engage enemies, I feel like I can't die.

I use 2 mining lasers and all the rest are the proton beams. And my broadside canons are whatever the energy weapons are that are the strongest and furthest shooting. I roll over everything. Because I took the time to hunt for and kill everything that was an enemy. I almost couldn't afford the dreadnaught class when I went warped to the next star system (the second one). It brought down to 200k credits after upgrading to MK3. But now, earned it all back in a jiffy.

Have you gotten deep into other systems yet?

Try jumping ahead when you're able, look at "Very hard" and "hard" missions. You should meet armada's with weapons a tier or two above you that way.

No, just now made it to the second system.

I got Hollow Knight recently, I'm looking forward to it.

Currently playing DS3. Great vibe, smooth controls, and fantastic voice acting, but it feels bit easy and a bit too linear compared to DS1, and to DS2 as well, but to a lesser extent. The first will always be my favourite.

Have you considered that the game might seem easier simply because you've played games like it before? I felt Dark Souls 1 was easy compared to Demon's Souls, but Demon's Souls was the first game of that type I ever played.

I've played bare minimum like ten playthroughs each of Dark Souls 1 and 2 and, though I haven't played as much of 3, I wouldn't say it is overall easier and some of the bosses are among the hardest in the franchise.

It's definitely more linear though, especially compared to 1. No doubt about that.

I do think 1 is better than 3, but I would honestly argue 3 has the most consistently high boss quality. There are some real pieces of shit in Dark Souls 1, and 2 has probably the lowest overall boss quality of the three.

Not necessarily, I built my Og rig back in 2012 with a i7 965 EE and a GTX 580.

In 8 years, I’ve upgraded to a I7 980x with a Cosair water cooling block, and a GTX 980TI water cooled GPU. Which plays all my games at max res. Totally money spent on upgrades around $400 or so. So in 10 years I’ve played whatever I wanted to for small change. Basically free if you ask me. In those same 8 years what a PS3, 4 a soon 5, and three different Verdi’s on of Xbox have come out. The One, One S and One X?

Bargain here on the PC for much more useful machine and better graphics and faster load times and 100x more customizable features in game.

Also the parts I bought were never new. Saves tons of money buying used PC parts.

You are partially correct, but I still find DS1 has an overall more challenging level of difficulty — although obviously nowhere near as hard as when I first played it, new games are still always somewhat challenging for me (I'm not a top tier player by any stretch of the imagination). Bloodborne NGs, too, always provide a bit of a challenge — but DS3 I've found way easier right off the bat. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if it was the first Souls game someone played it'd still be real tough.

I'm sure some of the later bosses will be a nice challenge, though, and I might just be underestimating the early areas. I've only fought the first two bosses so far, but I haven't died yet. That being said, DS2 had this thing for me where I blazed through some bosses and then got mega-stuck on others. Man, **** Elana. Legit despised her, only Soulsbourne boss I truly hate.

DS2 has some great bosses too tho, even if others are really weak — I really enjoy the Pursuer, and the Burnt Ivory King is one of my top bosses of the entire series.

Anyway, if you say DS3 has some of the best bosses, then I'm excited to get more into it and see how it goes. I'm leaving it a while to play it more, in a kind of masochistic hope that I'll be rusty by the time I get back to it and suck at playing, haha.

If you have a 360 or backwards compatible system, maybe look into "Project Slypheed"

Bought it at a convention some years back. Best discribed as "Ace Combat in Space".

Has the problems you'd expect from an older space game such as waaaay too much information on screen, proper names of stuff painted all over your view, red arrows literally EVERYWHERE..

But it's fun, as the core game mechsnics are "Lock 1000 missiles on everything that moves", and "unlock tiers of weapons, each category more over the top then the last".

Playing my collection of virtual Star Wars Pinball games. Rebel Assault and Darth Vader mostly.

Main problem with video pinball is the camera, it never feels quite right. I choose to settle with the one that brings your nose down to the table, so you're almost in an fps view, and it keeps the top of the table close and visable. Bit of a roller coaster effect when it switches views, but nothing that bothers me.

How much did you spend on your original rig?

Around $800

So that's about $1200 total. Which, I agree, is pretty impressive, but for some people in that same time span they've only maybe spent $400 on a single console that has lasted them just as long.

Exactly. I've got nothing against PC mains, and I get there are advantages. That said, you are also paying for those advantages. Many of them overestimate how often people buy consoles.

The PS3 and PS4 came out 7 years apart, which is about the same length of time Broly spent 1200$ on his pc. Even if you bought both consoles right at launch, you still spent less than he did. Many don't even don't even get the next system right away though, like myself, and wait for price drops or the inevitable Slim version. The previous console doesn't die immediately, and people still make games for it for a while. No joke, I still busted out my PS1 as late as 2012.

I mean, the 400$ bucks on used parts upgrades....that's a new console plus extra peripherals/games.

Consoles are notoriously prone to breaking, not loading games and being weak on graphics. Also you have to play with your thumbs which is basically garbage.

LoL. Playing with a controller is one of the things I love about consoles. I would hate playing with a mouse or keyboard. As I said, I like playing sitting back in my recliner; playing with a mouse and/or keyboard would make that difficult.

And the only time any of my consoles over the years have ever broken is because of some accident on my part.

Yep, you're right about PC's having much better graphics and quicker loading times though.

Meanwhile, on top of a gaming platform that is strictly superior to a console, Supra also has a perfectly usable computer which he can use to do computer things, like shitpost on KMC.

A decent gaming PC is the superior gaming experience and is by far the more versatile piece of technology. I bought my PC like four years ago and haven't had to upgrade shit and I still can play new releases on maximum settings. And I'm a lazy douchebag who just buys new PCs whole, I could have done it more cheaply if I built it.
