also possible. agreed

I can understand that, but then why talk about it to the media tho?

probably to push the "recent crimewave" narrative. you are aware that they play and inflame all sides, right?

I'm not asking why the media reported it. I'm asking why, if he didn't go to the cops because he was involved in illegal activity, he would tell the media he got robbed. That would just draw scrutiny right?

it has already drawn scrutiny. why did he say it? beats me.

Only because he said he was robbed. He wouldn't be getting asked if he had told the McMichaels about it, etc. if he had said nothing.

I have a hard time believing someone would not report the theft of $2,500 worth of equipment. Especially, someone who has surveillance equipment on his property.

If he has insurance, he would need a police report in order to file a claim. And if he does not have insurance, filing a police report so detectives will investigate is his only hope of getting his property back.

Sounds like a post hoc rationalization to me.

I didn't file a police report as to not drive down property values. And it could have been covered by my home-owner's insurance, too.

Also, I'd call this most like a post-hoc analysis. We are trying to figure why there are conflicting claims of $2,500 in fishing gear vs. insurance claims vs. formal police reports vs. English' words vs. McMichaels' words.

English also is getting threats to his life because he shared the footage of Arbery entering his property with the police and news stations.

Wait...what?

He told the media he got robbed and then retracted that statement?

I don't understand why someone would be mad he shared footage?

could be there was never a theft to begin with, and he was trying to help back McMichaels claim of a crimewave after the fact. who knows

No, he told the media he got robbed, but that he didn't report it to the cops.

Some have offered up theories that he didn't go to the cops because he was involved in illegal activity. If that was the reason he didn't tell the cops...why tell the media about being robbed? Cops would surely hear about it...

So the fishing gear was stolen, he said he was robbed, but then later went on the news for an interview and said nothing was taken?

This guy's credibility really feels like it should be thoroughly questioned.

Because it might hurt their narrative and we all know how they react to having their bias challenged

But see this doesn't make sense either since Raptor showed evidence of Larry English saying he didn't tell the McMichaels about the theft. So if he's willing to lie about being robbed, why not lie and say "yeah I told the McMichaels" ?

No. He told the media(the daily beast specifically) that he was robbed of $2500 of fishing equipment, but that he didn't tell the cops.

Some gave a theory that he didn't report the robbery to the cops because he was involved in illegal activity.

My point is, if that is true, why confess to the media you were robbed? Surely the cops would hear about this guy saying "I was robbed, but said nothing" .

Because they think he was trying to make Arbery look bad to justify Arbery's death by McMichael Firing Squad.

Something like this (a characterization by people who are mad and making death threats):

English: "Ohohoho! Not so fast, blackies! Here are videographical picture shows, proving Arbery is a bad guy. After I hollered at him with a couple of 'boah!' and 'hey, get back here, blackie!!', he ran off and I got the McMichael's to go after him to give him so good ol' southern justice."

Death Threateners: How dare you do this. I know exactly what to do. Lets threaten to kill this English guy. I bet he doesn't eat the breakfast muffins named after him.

Oh, you're talking about the article I posted where he said that. Gotcha. That was earlier in the "story."

Since then, he's gone on national television to cry about the death threats and to state nothing was stolen.

The funny thing is he didn't share the footage to support the McMichaels it came off like he was trying to contradict their version of events. And he still got threatened lol.

it would not be required for him to have conspired with McMichael's over it. could have just pulled it out of his ass right there for the media for all we know. or do you mean that it doesn't make sense because it's stupid to even mention? can't disagree

perhaps he was first attempting to help McMichael's case and then pumped the brakes? who knows

The people complaining/making threats aren't exactly "deep thinkers"

But they sure do claim to be intelligent...or else a lot more intelligent than the other side. Yet the alt left hurls death threats just like the alt right does.
