If there were going to be 3 total installments they should have been $20 each. And if they planned on 6 it should be $10 each.

Bet they justify it by adding a bunch of useless shit.

That’s exactly what they did. The remake is littered with useless quests. Yet there are people that defends that shit by saying stupid shits, like it’s a big game, they had to cut it back.

My answer to them is this, it’s your money, so what you want, but don’t lie to me or yourself. Then I tell them to look at the Witcher 3. Then the 2 DLC that were full games themselves.

It’s doubtful you’ll even play this game since it’s obviously not meant for you, but you’re truly reaching when say things like these without a first hand objective experience with the game. The particular way Square Enix has released this game is to be an experience over the course of several releases, the reason being is because the world is so expansive and detailed to be contained on a single disc. Of course, you wouldn’t know this in your ignorance because you lack first hand objective knowledge of the game, so therefore you’re lashing out against it. Such childish behavior.

The fact of the matter is that fans are willing to pay for a high quality remake because that’s exactly what it is. Pathetic little nitpickers like you who have no true right to say since you’re not a true fan are disgruntled at best. Deal with it.

And you’re letting nostalgia, and fanboyism cloud your judgement, just to defend shitty practices by big corporations.

Remake is game with no soul, that relies on nostalgia to make its money. People like you defend it by saying such drivel as an experience that needs to be played is bullshit.

So once again, the Witcher 3, plus it’s 2 DLC’s which happens to be full games on there own is far superior than remake in everything, minus the cg cutscenes.

The only way I would ever play this game is if it were giving to me. Or the game is 100% complete and on sale for 20 bucks.

Let me guess, you’re also looking forward to the final mix too?

FFIV was absolutely huge and only required a single disc. It had multiple and varied areas, tons of cutscenes and side quests and optional bosses and is probably still the most technologically impressive FF game. So that excuse doesn't fly.

I love FF7, but that said. I'll just keep playing the original until all parts of the remake are out. no point in buying it until then.

But in the past they had no problem releasing FF games in their entirety even though they took up multiple discs. So why change to this?

That’s a fair question and at least you aren’t blindly harping on the negativity on this subject like others. The simple reason why Square released the game like this was because it’s simply too big of a game to release on a single disc. In all honesty, I can understand why some may complain about the installation experience, but personally I’d rather have the first segment available and play it now rather than waiting for the entirety of the game to be finished and waiting a longer time period.

Speaking from first-hang experience: this game is huge and lush. The attention to detail is acute down to the very background. I’m looking forward to each installment with this much love and care put into the game.

Different format, different technology. The game pushes the PS4 limits to the max.

You all do know that the "remake" is a "remake" in the way that the

Spoiler:
Rebuild of Evangelion
series is a remake, in the sense that
Spoiler:
it is actually a pseudo-sequel which diverges greatly from the original game
, right?

Okay so... When I said overrated I meant mainly the story, Crisis Core arguably had a much better narrative.

There are other games I prefer over it, one which came out the same era: Legend of Dragoon.

I can't speak on the gameplay because I've never played it but I know the story and all it's moments inside and out.

It has a good story but I'd hardly call it "great", and in a turn-based RPG more then half the game for me ARE the stories since turn-based combat has to do something exciting to get me interested.

We're way off topic here, but I want to chime in and opine that this remake is amazing on every level, but not perfect.

The original PS1 game is three discs and with massive data that pushed the console to the max.

It's literally impossible to fit ALL of FF7 onto one Blu-ray disc.

I'm completely fine with multiple releases as long as the game is polished and well made.

I've been playing this game since I was 17 in 1997 and I'm still a die hard fan who isn't whining about a "cash grab".

Dude the entire thread being in this subforum is off topic. But yeah, I agree.

The fact that you two can’t see a cash grab for what it is, it’s the reason these companies continues to act the way they do.

Except the the recent RE2 remake wasn't a cash grab, It was very good remake at that

RE 3 remake maybe yeah, That one had alot more stuff cut from it it was more of a re imagining then a remake.

Ugh...can't even edit my previous post, Thanks asshats that keep posting from their phones.

Okay but my point is other games were too big to fit onto one disc and they just released a game with multiple discs all at once. Why not do that here?

And this is a remake of a game that is already out so I don't see the rush to let people have access to it. Why not just wait until it is finished and then sell the full game? It comes off as greedy since this is a remake.

It's like if George Lucas decided to remake star wars and release it in four 30 minute installments that you pay full ticket price for each one to see and he justifies it by going "well I added a few minutes of new dialogue to the cantina scene".

RE2 was f*cking awesome.

RE3 was lazy and unpolished. I liked it, but it could have been so much better.

FF7 was great people say The Witcher 3 was better. The Witcher 3 is so boring
