Marvel went darker too with some of their netflix shows. All edgelords or is it only wrong when DC does it?

Marvel Netflix is done and cancelled though. Was too dark for Disney and its core audience.

I know that DC is usually seen as having lighter material than Marvel, but I don't think going darker automatically means edgelord.

Edgelord DC stuff was the teen titans tv show having dick grayson go "f*ck batman" in the trailer. This could be edgelord stuff who knows, or it could work. Or it could just be bad and fail at even being edgy.

Of course making your stories dark is not = to being an edgelord.

Well, at least Snyder didn't have Batman get raped in prison... yet. He said that's something he would consider to have happen if he did a Batman movie, during an interview a couple years back. Think he was working on Watchmen at the time.

It's safe to say he won't be able to come up with anything that hasn't already been done to death in either movies or comics.

Batman/Joker interactions have been explored very thoroughly.

If Snyder wanted to be original, he would pick some other flavour from Batman's rich rogue gallery.
