The trailer does look better than I had expected it to look, so we might end up with another average film at best imo. I don't really look forward to average films. Darkseid looked decent, though looked like he belongs in a videogame more than a film, maybe they polish it up in the final product.
edit: though I was surprised to hear that only a "few minutes" of new film were shot for this version

Seid looks like crap and I doubt we'll see more of him than what was already shown in the trailer.
Steppenshit is still the main villain, it's not a different movie, just slightly altered one with some new/extended/revamped scenes...

Darkseid will just cameo in this.
I've never had a problem with Steppenwolf as the main villain, as long as they made it clear there was a greater power behind him. But still, it's just another way they are ripping off the first Avengers. I will never get that feel of shock and awe of seeing Darkseid on screen like when I saw Thanos, in that surprise reveal at the end of Avengers.

I mean Marvel got there first on the big screen. Nothing they can do about that.
But they should still stick to their source material without being afraid to copy Marvel. I mean Darkseid was actually created first (as in before Thanos).

Darkseid and Thanos are separated by only three years. But being first doesn't always mean better. In my opinion, Thanos is Darkseid done better at Marvel, with more respect. They don't let a single hero chump Thanos in battle (unless it's Odin or someone higher than Skyfather in the Marvel Universe) - unlike the many times Darkseid has been solo'd by Superman or outwitted by Batman.
Thanos and the Joker are the two best villains at Marvel & DC because neither wants what a convention baddie wants - power, control, worship etc. They crave nihilism and choas instead.
