I finally got to see this and surprisingly it was pretty solid.Spoiler:
Cyborg and Flash got some well deserved backstory despite the interaction with Iris being pretty weird. The Superman return still felt awkward though I blame that more on WB than anything else.Despite the runtime it felt less padded than Endgame which was a nice surprise. While its a nitpick I didn't really care for the Atlanteans being rather dull coming from the Aquaman movie where there was more technical marvels and vibrant colors.
Even if Synder may not have been the ideal pick for a Justice League film, his take on it doesn't deserve the excessive hate IMO.
People somehow forgets that DCEU doesn’t need to be Marvel lite when it comes to humor and violence. I sometimes reads as a way to bash the DCEU and elevate Marvel, DC has too much violence, and it’s too dark theme wise. It’s like those people never read any DC comics.

Yeah but do you not think that narrative has arose simply because the Marvel films have become much more beloved.
Like no one complained The Dark Knight Trilogy was too dark.
That said, you would expect the first mainstream Justice League movie to be family friendly.

Yes, Marvel has become beloved so much that they can do no wrong.
-Iron man 2, 3 were okay, yet no one went on binge and trash Marvel.
-Thor 1, 2, 3 ranked from okay to bad, yet again, no bashing.
-The First Avenger was boring, again no bashing.
-Far From Home was another one
No one complained the Dark Knight trilogy was dark because it was a Batman movie.
Justice League doesn’t need to be family friendly to be enjoyable. Most comics are not kids friendly to began with, so why should the movies be?
Snyder gave us a good dark film that was enjoyable and action pack.

Hey there are people here that do have a hate boner for the man.
Snyder is all flash little substance. Even though in his mind and his fans minds he is some sort of genius thinking his movies are super deep and mature.
Basically Snyder's formula is:
- Make 90% of the movie take place at night, in rainstorms, in poorly lit rooms.
- Include "in your face", anti-subtle, straight out of film school religious symbolism. This of coarse means the movie is super deep. Everyone is Jesus in some way.
- Use slow motion at every chance he can.
- Muted colors everywhere. The least vivid colors the better.
- Unlikable characters that are scowling or moping 24/7
- Basically instead of being creative, copy's others people work. He copy and pastes scenes from paintings , pictures etc.
In his small brain all these things make films mature and deep.
The worst part is when he instagram/tweets out explanations , pictures from his movies detailing exactly what he meant to portray with a particular scene and what it means. Usually having to do with a religious thing or renaissance painting or whatever else.
The problem is that he included all these things "he" thinks are deep and intricate, but he doesn't have the talent as a director to portray that into film. So he has to explain to everyone what he was actually trying to convey in scenes because the end product was a clusterfuk of nonsense.
If a director with actual talent directed a "deep" movie, most people have no issue following a movie and the meaning and messages the director was trying to put forward no matter how deep, because the director has the talent and know how of how to convey that to the audience.
Again he has his head up his own ass thinking he is some sort of high art director that makes movies for mature adults , when the source material is kids picture book characters.
We have heard him speak as well, and he can barely string together words to make a coherent thought.

MOS was a solid flick, with few little problems, with Jonathan’s death being the biggest. But till this day, people are still crying because of the destruction of metropolis. Or the death of Zod. Superman has killed so many times in the comics, but him killing Zod is a bad thing now.
The reasons i didn't like MOS without mentioning the things you mentioned above:
- Snyder tried to give Superman the same tone as a Batman movie. Only Batman should have a darker tone. Superman is the opposite of what a Batman movie should feel like.
- Clark/Supes was unlikable throughout the whole movie. I didnt feel like I should be rooting for him to win as much as I should have. By the end i didn't care if Zod won TBH.
- Clark was a a sulking mess the whole movie and also a total douchebag. Trashing the truckers truck for a little thing. Metropolis is burning in the background , people screaming for help, and he decides to kiss Lois instead while the ashes of the dead civilians fall on top of them in their romantic moment.
In the end of the movie destroys a multi million dollar military satellite in front of the military, threatens the military and flies off leaving tons of wreckage for the military to clean up.
Dickhead Superman. Snyder would have made a better Superman Prime movie.

BVS ultimate cut was also solid. With its biggest problem still being the Martha scene, and the introduction of Doomsday.
I been meaning to watch the BvS: Ultimate Cut. I just want to know if it fixed these issue i had with it.
Did the ultimate edition fix Lex being an awkward twink queerboi? "Boooooyyyss" "Woah , I wouldnt want to mess with this guy". etc, etc.
Did it fix the Martha scene?
Did it fix all the characters being unlikable?
Did it fix this stupid CGIfest third Act act with a Ork monster?
Did they fix Lois Lane being a better detective than Batman?
Did they fix introducing the Justice league with YouTube videos send via Facebook message?
Did they fix Superman being absolutely disgusted by saving people in that Montage that Lois probably forced him to make as a P.R. stunt?
Did they fix the scenes being out of order according to the plot? ( I think this is the only thing they fixed if i heard correctly.)
Supermans death didnt have much of an impact because he wasnt really likable and fleshed out, even though he already had his own solo film.
I'm curious to know if the ultimate edition fixes these problems so I can waste 3 hours of my time and watch it. Because if it didn't it's the same garbo as the theatrical cut.

JL’s only problems were when the queen ran up the wall to slice the parademon, the Martian Manhunter being shoe in, Barry and Iris scene which looked creepy, and the nightmare scene.
As far as Justice League goes. I thought the Theatrical cut was not good but not as bad as BvS, Suicide Squad.
But like I said before, the only way for Snyder to make a satisfactory film is for him to have 5+ years, $370 million dollars and 4+ hours to tell his story, there are plenty of directors that can do the same or better with a bad film with all the things he got.

I mean thats your opinion. I think Thor 1 is massively underrated. But yeah Dark World was underwhelming, and got plenty of slack to the extent that even Chris Hemsworth ultimately said it was just Meh.
I gave Iron Man 3 tons of shit. As did Stilt. But it made a crap pile of money because the character was at an all time high in popularity post Avengers. But I think its telling that despite its humongous box office, Feige didnt bring Shane Black back for further Marvel projects.
Of course a Theatrical Justice League should be family friendly. Its not Watchmen or 300. Its a team of the greatest and most famous superheroes kids look up to. You really wanted that to be R Rated? No studio would have agreed to that. Theres kids merchandise to think of as well.
But regardless it was never going to make big money because of the way it was built up. The initial trailers were Snyders trailers. Yet no one turned up Opening Weekend. Because it simply wasnt built up well enough. Like why waste a film on Suicide Squad instead of a Flash, Aquaman or Cyborg solo film ? And why not just delay the release of JL by a year or two.
They screwed themselves over rushing to catch up to Avengers. And the irony is theyre further away than ever from competing.

We can argue til the cows come home, but for the longest time, most of the Marvel movies follow the same formula. It was boring, so pretty much all those movies you mentioned we're just decent. Not to say all MCU films were like that. I did appreciate GOTG, Thor Ragnarok, and even Hulk.
Ant-Man suffered the same formula.

That was the point I was making. Those movies were okay, yet because they made money and with the positive reviews from critics, nothing more was said.
I hated Ragnarok because it was all fun with no substance. Even after everything Thor lost, I still didn’t care enough.
I love Hulk. It’s still one of my top 5 MCU films to date.

Thor 1 was the best because they went with the Shakespearian aspect of Thor. Then again it was directed by Bragga.
See that’s the thing, you gave Iron Man 3 shits because it sucks, but never did you go so far as to personally insult the director and blame his daughters suicide on him. That’s the difference between DCEU and MCU when it comes to criticism.
Comics doesn’t always needs to be friendly, most comics aren’t friendly. Yes I do understand the toys aspect so I can see were you’re coming from. But I did like the rated R aspect of Justice League aspect.
I blame it mostly on the WB exec. There’s a story that came out that the execs wanted to release the films because they were afraid of losing their bonuses because of the merger. Even worse, they watched Whedon’s versions, and they hated it.

The best part of the movie is an entire planet of hyper-advanced techno-deities conveniently forgetting where its Unity was thwarted, its army routed, its crucially important magic cubes lost, and its demonic leader nearly killed by a skyfather and two compatriot gods.
Because plot need.
That’s the best part of the movie.
😂

Not really. Winter Soldier was a Spy film. Ant Man a heist movie. Homecoming/Far From Home were teen romcoms. GOTG an adventure film.
Unless you mean the formula of hero beating bad guy ? Thats kind of the concept of a superhero movie though.
If you mean the fun tone however, they could probably change up on that a bit. The Cap films were probably the only ones which took a slightly more serious tone. Whilst Ragnarok was kind of a dark comedy. But hey if a formula works....
