a chainsaw vs gun has a few perks. intimidation factor since it's large loud and unmistakable, It won't send projectiles through the walls and kill a neighbor, it'll keep you from making a rash decision without surveying the situation...far less of a chance of doing b!tch-time as is possible with a firearm.
perhaps an improvised flashlight mount since both of your hands will be occupied holding the chainsaw.
