You see, the world has free will. Except for those who lose their free will to others... God is responsible for everything good, but nothing bad. He doesn't give people cancer, but he cures it. Again, I'm arguing that they actually don't believe in any of it. I don't think it's possible, unless someone's goal is to deliberately be sent to hell. That's the only reason (besides desperation and/or delusion) someone who is well-read on the new testament could support MAGA and Project 2025 while actually "following Christ's teachings." It's a paradox. It's like MAGA is code for "trolling Jesus".

I'm pretty sure they do believe it. It's how I was raised. You are taught that Americans are "God's people" (even though that's clearly the Jews in the Bible) and making other people obey biblical laws is a purpose of Christians. So they can be xenophobic and homophobic, and feel like they are obeying God at the same time. Anytime they want to ignore a verse, they definitely have a philosophical excuse for why they can eat pork and shellfish. It sounds like utter gibberish and almost a con game from the outside, but from the inside it all feels very logical. They also do this fun thing where they "pray" which is basically talk out loud about what they think until they really convince themselves that they can do whatever they are thinking about, and it's God's will instead of their own thoughts because they prayed about. It's brain damage, not a scam.

I think when they're alone in their own thoughts, they know it's an act. Just what I see.

And I'm sure there's a small portion of them that are legit mentally ill, but the masses know they're frauds, they'll just never openly admit it.

Group hypnosis is real, though. Is mental illness required for that? I don't know, but I'm just saying it's a real thing

They lie to themselves too. They are taught those moments when they don't believe are a lack of faith and to try harder to believe. Admitting those doubts to each other is something they never do. Pray harder is the solution for everything.

Why doesn't it ever work for those gay thoughts of theirs they hate so much?

I mean, that is an exact example of what I'm taking about. The lack of faith IS a sin. So in order to not sin, they have to avoid not believing. Even thinking of not believing is a sin. That's the way it is taught. Bring gay is the same. You are only gay if you let yourself think gay thought basically.
