Was back in 2016, it's called Hillbilly Elegy, been made into a Netflix film.
It seems while Vance is a talented writer, he paints with very broad strokes and uses his own craptastic family (going from the book) as a model for all Appalachians, which people are saying is not true:

I'm gonna be pissed if she goes for Shapiro as VP (rumoured). But I think she might as the Dems panic react to Trump calling them anti-semitic and anti-Israel.
They shouldn't listen to anything he says though, as she's the one whose surged in the polls. He's gone down.
So don't play into his hands to the point where the Pro-Palestine vote is like "well what difference does it make, I'll stay at home".

I don't know how well the antisemitic and anti-Iisrael chants will stick against Harris. Trump tried it against Biden in 2020, claimed any Jewish person who votes for Biden hates Israel, it failed, Biden still got the majority of the American Jewish vote.
So if she picks Shapiro, it will because of his experience, his Pennsylvania background and the polls showing he'd help more than others in PA and the surrounding states.
Then there's the fact that Kamala Harris has a Jewish husband and the Biden campaign has given practically everything to Israel save some city busting bombs that would kill terrorist, civilians and hostages alike.
I've see Far-Right Jewish talking heads claiming Harris' husband is a "fake Jew" or a JINO, but that will probably only work on Jewish people who were going to vote for Trump anyways.
I still think it will be Be shear, just gut instinct.
