Yeah, my gf and I tried to watch it sometime back. Think we got about as far as you did before we lost interest. I hear it gets better in the later seasons after Netflix picked it up, but the first season was pretty blah. Didn't have much of an overarching story at that point. Felt like it wasn't really going anywhere.

I think yeah season 1 is bad I think it picks up about 3/4 of the way through season 2

The Buffy series was really good. The Angel spinoff series was kind of a letdown though. I wish I could get my money back for those DVD's. I only watched thru the entire Angel series once, I think.
