Well if a British person has to tell you how to be funny, you can't take the grail, can you, ****face?

Who said anything "took the grail"? You said there weren't any good sitcoms since Friends and I pointed out "The Office". Are you drunk?

And I will point out that, despite Gervais being involved in the US version, episodes were primarily written by Americans. Mindy Kaling was one of the writers I think.

It still had to have a British person in charge.

He was an executive producer I don't think he was solely in charge of the entire show

Look at that, "dickwad" is not censored.

Probably like looking into the future of porn sites at this point.

Same way Hollywoods increasingly gone from models and paintings to glorified video game environments.

Sometimes the Executive Producer role is given to someone as an excuse to give them an extra few zeroes on their payslip, not always but it happens. Check out how many shows have the main star or stars suddenly just become EP's around the season 3 mark, it's also a good way to bump your star's salary without giving the supporting cast something to grumble about. I reckon around 40% of executive producers don't actually do anything.

Yeah, for instance of the 12 EP on the show, 2 also acted in it. Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak.

You make a good point, I'll refute with, he was getting Americans make fun of themselves, and credit where it's due, they did. I think Kevin or Stanley were probably the best, or maybe Dwight, Jim and Pam.... Andy was bad but then turned good, I guess. I really liked Erin.... she's hot.

It's also a marketing thing. Like Tarantino being heavily advertised with Eli Roth's Hostel, Tom Hanks being advertised as being involved with Band of Brothers and Pacific.

Pretty sure it's also a tax thing as their actor's salary will be put back into the production so they are technically helping finance it and they'll get paid in a different way.
