Never wanted to do that to myself, but I do know having real trouble dealing with emotions is a real thing some people have trouble with.
I mean, who would choose to cut themselves? Or otherwise harm themselves? No one WANTS to do that kind of thing.
If a young person today, growing up with all the advantages of hard-won LGBTQ rights and social support, harms himself over bullying, then he is not cut out for this life. Because being an LGBTQ person is not an easy life. He is bullied now, but when he gets older, his life will not be marginalization, oppression, or persecution-free. He is just going to trade that challenge for a different set of challenges. And if he cannot handle that, then he certainly cannot handle what else is coming his way down the road. Because the difficulty setting does not get easier as you proceed through the game of life. People not much older than him had it much worse than he does and did not resort to doing the bully's job for him. He needs to toughen the **** up.
