But I don't like how they're turning this into a show for the world to see. Smells like bread and circuses. I mean, people have died and we treat is like a sporting event.

I'm curious what you think would have happened if we hadn't pulled out by the deadline the Taliban gave Trump? They held off attacking us because Trump agreed to leave, but they had won that war. If we had violated our agreement with them, the result would have been the same, just with our troops as additional casualties. If we had been able to beat the Taliban, we had 20 years to do it, and showed we were incapable of beating them.
Just my 2 cents on that.

Trump never should have made the agreement in the first place.
I don't really know what a good solution would have been, or if a better one existed. I do know if I was promoting a global pullout of troops, I would be a little less adamant about it after seeing the results of this pullout.
The assumption has been America oppressively encroaches on other nations sovereignty. Afghanistan proves it isn't that simple... There are countries that aren't so unified, and much worse elements then American soldiers waiting for an opening to take over.
