Trump was willing to halt criminal investigations as 'favor' to dictators

Agreed

Keep it up guys. Nothing wrong with gaslighting and trolling. All this debating stuff is for chumps and losers

Don’t think so, but we all know your using this excuse to try and excuse away what you did

Basically your saying “I did what I did because you were going to post about Pizzafate/Obama”

Doesn’t work👆

You should check your memory because you did push the Kenyan born Muslim about Obama, among other things.

Obama is Muslim was born, it’s true. You have gone so far as to say “ok and”

There is no ok and. It’s the facts.

*and was born Muslim

I don’t now why people have a problem admitting it.

That's not the benign narrative that was pushed though, it was that he still is a Muslim and was pushing to install Sharia law in the US, planning on extending his president indefinitely, supports ISIS. Anyhow, lets leave it, as I don't think you've actually forgotten your previous beliefs.

I think he still is Muslim, I have never conceded he's not.

The real question I always asked was why do people have a problem admitting he is, when its pretty well documented.

I dont care that he is, I care about the stupid people that want to deny it just to deny it, to either make themselves feel better or to gaslight.

What We Know About John Bolton’s Book

Less than a week passed last September between John Bolton’s unceremonious exit from the White House and the first report on his plans to write a book about his time as national security adviser. Nine months later, The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir, which goes on sale June 23, is No. 1 on Amazon’s best-seller list. But if the Trump administration has its way, those presales will be preempted. Here’s what we know about Bolton’s highly anticipated tell-all and Trump’s attempts to stop it from seeing the light of day.
The book’s most scandalous allegations

On June 17, the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal published several details from the book that, if verified, would shake a normal administration to its foundations. According to the Post: “President Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help him win the 2020 U.S. election, telling Xi during a summit dinner last year that increased agricultural purchases by Beijing from American farmers would aid his electoral prospects.” The alleged conversation took place in June, a month before Trump pressured Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.

Trump’s private conversations with President Xi that month were also cause for alarm, according to the Wall Street Journal’s account: “Xi had explained to Trump why he was basically building concentration camps in Xinjiang. According to our interpreter, Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which Trump thought was exactly the right thing to do.” As the two agreed to restart trade talks in the midst of the summer’s disastrous trade war, Trump told Xi, “You’re the greatest Chinese leader in 300 years!” -snip

I'm going to request this thread be renamed "The Official John Bolton Book Thread", as to keep all related material in one thread as the book was released today.

I'm going to read it if my new paperwhite arrives this week. My old one is not working well.

If Bolton can corroborate these claims then holy shit, Trump is probably done.
As much as I'd love to agree, I can't. His base will never relent, just like after 150 years you still have those chanting that the South will rise again.

Happened upon this quote the other day. Seems as relevant today as 100 years ago, and no doubt well before that:

"The old world is dying, and a new world struggles to be born: now is the time of monsters."

While I wholeheartedly agree that his base is a cult and they will never break away from him no matter what as long as he has power, it's not those people that need to be swayed in order for him to lose in 2020. It's the purple voters, the fringe voters, Blue voters who voted for the "anti-establishment outsider" (lol, how did that turn out) in 2016 and the moderate-Right who had have enough of this clownshow.

I forget which Republican election analyst said it, but the 2016 election come to down to something like 70-75k votes across a few states.

I said to my daughter, who with her BF marched in some of the Brooklyn protests (following safety guidlines ofc), that I hope her generation realizes that protesting will only get you so much. You guys have to get out and vote. No sore-loser-I-didn't-get-Bernie crap.

She said that flyers were being handed out to remind people how important voting is.

Agreed 👆

I wanted Bernie too both in 2016 and 2020, I'm still voting even though I didn't get my wish.

I just dont get this cult of the "strong man" thing tbh.
